If Giggs' doesn't start, I think we'll beat them.

If Giggs does start, then f**k knows what will happen.

I think Giggs is ready to have a blinder.. He knows that it might as well be his last final for us.

It is going to be a crazy ass game, it's also going to be a premier league type match abviously because both of the teams are english, so the approach that we should take coming thorugh the match is the same that we had against them when we played them at old trafford back in the beginning of the season where avram grant had his first game also we have to have some european flair (taking a little bit from the barca game)

The lineup will be as follows, van der sar will be in goal, brown on the right, evra on the left, vidic and rio in the middle. Through the midfield we'll have carrick scholes, ronaldo on the right and giggs on the left, and uptop we will have tevez and rooney.

Personally i would take giggs off and start park ji sung and then bring on giggs, but it seems that the strategy of starting will give us more options off the bench, as for the substitutions hargreaves, nani, park, or anderson should be involved in this game for sure .

i'll have to go with a manchester united win 3-1

1. Wore GIGGS 1999-2000 shirt yesterday to give respect to the legend.
2. Wore TEVEZ 2007-2008 Champions League shirt to church this morning (with a couple of double-takes from fellow church goers). While leaving , dipped hand in holy water and touched badge. Apologies to agnostics , athiests and persons of other faiths , but I ain't taking any chances!
3. Will wear SOLSKJAER 2006-2007 shirt Monday to bring lates goals our way.
4. While calling in sick Tuesday (who can work a day BEFORE this!) will wear 1999 replica Champions League final jersey. Apologize , as I scheduled a vacation day for Wednesday and Thursday (Captain confident) and tell boss I will see him Friday.
5. After waking up at 5am because I cant sleep, re-wear TEVEZ CL jersey , untouched in it's pristine state since Sunday , and wait impatiently 8 hours and 45 minutes until kickoff

yes, it's THAT serious

You know something is wrong with us when more than half the posts in the match thread for a match just days away are about the starter of the thread.

Bad thing is, I was hoping for RoM too! However we all know that the maker of a thread has nothing to do with the result in the match. (See, I almost believe it)

Can't wait for this one. I'm already a nervous wreck.

Honestly, who cares who starts these threads?

As a matter of fact, why doesn't RoM start another one and all of the kooks who believe in superstition post there, while the rational folks post here? It's all the same in the end.

Here is my CL Final Preview!!!!! I'm so excited I'm gonna be sleep deprived for the next few days...

How will Man United look?

1. 4-3-3
---------------Van Der Sar----------------
---Brown---Vidic---Ferdinand ----Evra—
----Carrick---Hargraves---Scholes----
----Ronaldo----Rooney----Tevez------

2. 4-4-2
------------------Van Der Sar-----------------
---Brown---Vidic---Ferdinand ----Evra—
---------Carrick------Scholes-----Park----
-Ronaldo-----------------------------------
-------------Rooney----------Tevez---------

How will Chelsea look?

1.4-3-3/ 4-5-1

---------------------Cech----------------
---Essien---Terry---Carvalho----A.Cole—
------Ballack--Makelele--Lampard----
-Kalou--------------------------------J.Cole-
-------------------Drogba-------------------

How will Man United play?

Sir Alex knows that playing cautiously against Chelsea in last year’s FA Cup final didn’t work, and when he played a line up without a lot of flair against them in the League a few weeks ago, he knows he has to attack. Expect to see a lot of pressure from Man United through out the match. This attacking style should help United quell some early match jitters they showed against Barca at home and in other games this year in Europe. Ronaldo and Park if he plays will both be told to put as much pressure as possible on Essien and Cole, expect them both to switch between the left and right often if United come out in a 4-4-2. Vidic and Ferdinand will share responsibilities when it comes to marking Drogba, and both should be up to the task. Evra who did a good job on Messi against Barca will be asked to do the same against Kalou. Also expect lots of forward runs from Evra, especially in a 4-3-3 where Hargraves can always pop back and provide cover if needed. Expect United to try and play exciting football.

How will Chelsea play?

Chelsea will play their normal style of football and try and shut down United as they did in the FA Cup. There will be a lot of pressure on Essien and Cole to shut down Ronaldo. Also expect forward runs from both of them, especially Essien who is used to playing in a more forward role. A midfield with both Ballack and Lampard will be difficult for United to deal with especially with Makelele sitting in a deeper holding role allowing them to move forward. Hargraves will be given the job of shutting these two down if he plays. The most important part of the entire Chelsea squad will be the play of Drogba. He has had some brilliant and dreadful European nights this year. In the final Chelsea will be relying on him to open up space for Cole and Kalou with his strength, and hopefully getting a fair number of chances for himself.

Prediction: United go with the 4-3-3 and Hargraves shuts down Lampard and Ballack. Carrick plays very well and is the creator of much of United’s attack. United score in the first twenty minutes, and then add another late.

Man United 2-0 Chelsea
12’ Tevez
84’ Ronaldo

I think we'll redo the match thread with RoM as the starter either tomorrow or the day after.

Using Red 11's graphic if that satisfies all parties?

RoM is the good luck charm of the board this season and I think Red 11's efforts are not as appreciated now as they would be next season when everyone has a clean slate again and can prove or disprove their charm status from scratch.

The irony is that RoM doesn't believe in this charm thing at all. :D

No offense taken, but lets not discuss anything which might jinx my excellent to this point match thread record. So... How's the weather in your neck of the woods? :p

DS: If you want to restart the thread though, that's fine. Makes no difference to me.

I'll be working in Northern Ireland this week and will probably not have a chance to check in until I get back. Hope it's a good one and you are still celebrating when I get back.

I'll be walking out to watch the match regardless of how the job is going. I've already had it changed to a 0900 start instead of the original 1700.
