This match could be one of the best in the group stages.

I also heard this one:
Van der Sar; Ooijer, Boulahrouz, Heitinga, Van Bronckhorst; De Zeeuw, De Jong, Van Persie, Van der Vaart, Sneijder; Huntelaar

Both Moroccans in the starting lineup:D
I think this match will be a very tactical match cause both teams have a defensiv style of play.

You know it mate, I dont have too much faith after all these injuries.
Most Dutch will be thrilled with a boring 0-0 draw

It was a bit of a tongue in cheek post. In reality, i'm still bricking it over here as i'm sure most italians are. I'm extremely worried about our defence. The fact that Cannavaro and Nesta won't be playing kills me inside.

this is a game where pirlo shining would be ideal for italy to control the ball and flow

Hi everybody, I'm new in this forum, I'm italian.

I'm really looking forward to the Italy- netherland's game, and well: everything can happen.

Italy is more "team" than holland, but Ruud can't score 6769265 times and kick our asses, and at the same time some player with a surname that begins with "Van" can shot from 40 metres and do some incredible goal.

And we don't have Cannavaro...

But I'm an optimistic person, so my prediction is a 2-0 by the azzurri... but that doesn't mean that the 2-0 can't be by the dutch.

Ps Ok, as you already know I can't speak english very well... but at least I hope you can understand what i want tell you lol

Anyone know if Del Piero made it into the team?

I read about Materazzi, etc., but haven't followed up to see what Donadoni's the final selection is.

I'm one nervous wreck at the moment......

I truly hope Oranje can get a result, but because of the injuries I'm somewhat pessimistic. But who knows, Affelay might just explode on the field and have a great game. The boy can play, isn't afraid to take on players, and this is on a big stage. It's time for him to show the world what he's made off.

Btw, anyone seen where my fingernails went? The game hasn't even started yet and they're gone already.....

Kuijt is playing, not Affelay.

I'm not nervous yet, I just got home from a hard day's work after a short night's sleep... So I had other things to worry about mostly ;)

But I'll get nervous once we get to the national anthems.

Yeah just found out about it, and I don't like it. No offense to Kuijt, but I think Affelay suits the team much better against the Italians. I think the Italians are going to take it right to us, and with a technical and speedy player like Affelay we can catch them on the break.

Sorry but I disagree, we need a grinding hard worker like Kuijt, not some rookie

does anyone know the reason behind his "I've scored so I'm going to unscrew my ear" celebration?

I'm hoping for a Dutch win. I got them in the office sweepstake so I'll happily abandon my principles and cheer for a foreign nation for a mere chance of winning £32.

At least they have to do better than my 2004 draw, Russia, who stank the place out and were the first team knocked out.

Well Romania-France is over. I sure hope the Italy-Netherlands game is better.

Italy is not going to sit back, so there's no need to try to break up a team ( Kuijt ) who only defends. Affelay can take on players, Kuijt not so much.

The upside with Kuijt is he will work hard in midfield( and defense if necessary ) and that's great. I'd still prefer Affelay's speed and vision though. Even with him being a rookie.

Romania France 0-0 draw, most boring game of the tournament.

Works well for both Netherlands and Italy.
