Bury United for the season?

No, I will not be joining that party, Chris, and with an attitude like that I won't ever listen to your show.

Sorry.

I'm a fan first. Am I in denial? Maybe. But I will not give up on the team. Ever.

FWIW, I thought you were a fan too.

Truth be told, they're in the grave and dirt is beginning to be dumped on them to fill the hole. It's up to them to show everybody they're still alive.

I can agree with that, but as a fan I will not lift a shovel to help bury the team.

I still think that the season can be saved if some changes are made.

IAWTP.

According to the Urban Dictionary (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=IAWTP), IAWTP has 2 meanings.

The first seems logical.
Acronym: I Agree With This Post.

The second seems also logical and illusory.
Acronym: I Am Wearing Tight Pants

I figured that "I always wack the penis" was not what you intended.

Jesus H Christ Mike, relax.

I was being facecious. I guess nerves are a little too raw to say anything remotely insensitive to try and get people to listen.

You'll notice that the thread title was started mere minutes after the match, ya know, when most of us are seething with anger in yet another poor performance.

Should I have chosen different phrasing? Perhaps, but it still doesn't deter from the the fact that this is the worse team in the league right now that isn't an expansion team and it isn't even close. We just lost to a team that had 6 players missing from their starting lineup including the entire back line.

Damn right I'm pissed off. I'm not going to apologize for that and to take it further, our radio show doesn't play the role of "yes men" and pretend that everything will turn out alright. We see it and say it like it is. If that offends some people, then I'm sorry, don't listen. We happen to think that what we do is bring to the people the voices of the people. Our emotions are your emotions and outside of a message board, there aren't too many vehicles to voice our frustration.

As much as people think we are homers or cheerleaders (and we are a good deal of the time) we also like to think we have some semblance of objectivity calling a spade a spade. This team is terrible right now and we're going to say so.

It doesn't mean we don't support the team anymore, it just means we're as pissed off as everyone else.

Chris,

I couldn't have said it better. You better believe I'm a fan. I been there for DCU from day 1 before we even had supporters per se. I helped the team carry in equipment to their first office for heaven's sake. I've also sold more tickets and taken more people to games over the years then some of the full time FO staff.

Having said that, I think its absurd not to be able to hold the team up to the expectations that DCU has been trying to establish since the beginning.

Otherwise, what does setting a standard for the League and "Tradition" really mean? Etch, Moreno, Harkes and Goose in their prime stood for something special and uncommon. Thats why those banners are up on the stadium and point to a level of excellence difficult to attain.

The Players and the Coach, even the FO are only temporary custodians for DC United. And if they don't meet that standard, well, we did set that bar high.

Nick - still fuming......

Fair enough, Chris.

I agree that the team is terrible right now, and I'm not the least bit happy about what's going on.

Apologies for aiming my frustration at you.
