I asked this at the Sounders members meeting to several ECS members. We have some of the longest lead up to the club actually playing.

I was thinking, shouldn't we be making stuff for tifo for next year? Those giant flags that I and others think are cool take a while to make but if we made like one a month until first kick 2009 we'd be able to fill the sections behind goal with giant flags well beyond what we have now.

Also someone mentioned needing space to paint banners and asking the club for it.

If that falls through I live somewhere with a two car garage and driveway that could be used to paint banners.

Maybe you guys are already doing all this stuff, if so let me know, I'd love to help.

www.weareecs.com is the best spot to talk about this.

however, In my opinion our best course of action right now is advertising.

If you can make up flyers/posters to hand out at events and so forth that would be great. We need to promote and any ideas you have we would like to hear about them.

New songs!

Chants that are easy for new people to pick up and some rousing songs.

"Baby if you're feeling good...
...and baby if you're feeling nice.
You're know your man is working hard....
He's a worth a deuce!"

If you guys could spit fire afterward so much the better.

The song essentially preaches an ancient truth, that if the male has had a hard day, perhaps the female should consider providing both types of sexual favor to help ease his burden.

It has nothing to do with soccer at all, but remains one of the greatest male anthems of all time. :)

...and obviously, as you read this, it is obvious, I make the worst suggestions on this topic of all time.

Yea, because songs/chants such as "Go Sounders Go" and "We Are The Blue" are just oh so hard to learn...

The songs/chants that the ECS have now are fine.
Some will be left out once we move to MLS, and some new ones will be developed.

We are already working on "The Bluest Skies" by Perry Como, but that one is not all that easy to pick up on.

They will need to at least make an effort to learn the songs, and I am not about to start adopting the likes of "Let's Go Sounders"....
The little kiddies can use that one.

Oh, and I do think it is time for all of the people that are going to be into MLS (but are not into the USL-1 now) to step up and start participating.

Large tifo projects can take some time to put together, and the first match will sneak up faster than you think.

Yeah the sorts of things in mind for next year will take a lot of time and effort over the offseason. We'll need to have stuff ready to go by March, which isn't that far away when you look at it.

Perry Como - Seattle

This song is cheesy...Yet, I do like it. Not a bad song to sing at the beginning of the match. Our own "You"ll never walk alone" or "Tinny Bubbles"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpTClxdBG9c
Also, "Blame it on the Rain" as a taunt if the other team makes a mistake.

Brings us to "Singing in the Rain" Gene Kelly
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmCpOKtN8ME&feature=related
when ever it starts to rain it can be an anthem.

Or, we can co-op a some lyrics for a local band. We can go all West Ham Untd w/ Modest Mouse "Float On"

or ..maybe "Spoonman"? Heh?;)

What about some events that would garner some PR? The people that love soccer in the area are probably going to jump on board regardless of advertising or not just because they love soccer. What about getting people who aren't necessarily soccer fanatics like some of us on here? Those are the people we need to get on board to take the Sounders to the next level.

Any thoughts or ideas on what would get those people hooked?
