i agree with all of that, IF i was a German supporter

Lol - understandable. Btw, I have a soft spot for Poland (having studied at Krakow University), and if they weren`t in our group I would support them. But they are. Again. Damn.

Thinking about it, since we have so many good strikers, why not play with a 2-3-5 formation as in 1954:

-------------------------Turek
---------------Posipal----------Kohlmeyer
--------------Eckel------Liebrich-------Mai
H. Rahn---Morlock---O. Walter---F. Walter---Ha. Schäfer

Guys, for some reason all youtube videos since 2 days ago show only 2 seconds of footage and then stop. How do I fix this random/weird problem?

Hell yeah, I would turn into a Polish fan right after Germany wins, I would make sure to make them very happy and forget about the match later that night.

Kuba and Kuszczak went home, I hope this does not affect the teams mental health. Loosing Kuba is a set back but what's done is done, our team is ready.

This will be the toughest match of the 3 for both Poland and Germany, derby like game I hope our guys don't bring emotions on the pitch. Germany has better players but I think overall Poland is a very sold side at the moment; our wins against Portugal and Czech Republic prove this.

Win or loss is not out of the question, but I think this will end up in a tie.
Germany is a great team, but they do have a weakness a big one their back line is shaky Lehmann will be having some major major problems out there.

I think if the score end up as a tie this will be very very difficult for both Germany and Poland I rather have either Poland or Germany come out on top from this one and secure 3 points cause Croatia and Austria who will play at home will not be a walk in the park.

I hope the newspaper article controversy doesn't enter into things and Ballack had his right to discuss it and it could be psychological as well.

However, I don't feel very sorry for a team, that say, in '82, the team's goalkeeper knocked the teeth out of a striker which really must have been a punch. Germany is a straight up team nowadays it seems, but they've certainly not been angels in the past, in fact, there have been shirts worn about the team, "here comes the badguys" referring to the German team at the last world cup, but that is really history.

Is that guy Asamoah, the Ghanan playing for the Germans this time? I'll just read the thread again.

A favourite game of mine to watch is when that talented 1990 Columbia team drew West Germany in the group stage. It was a draw and a bit unbelievable to watch them keep up with the eventual champs and after all, only the Indominable Lions and Roger Milla sent Columbia home.

And the Dutchman is very astute, things can go wrong, first game can put one in a hole but Poland has I believe played Croatia many a time and that is a series that surely has had it's draws. And then, they can not take lightly host Austria either. I watched Israel rout 'em badly but they have had some history. You just don't take anyone lightly, I'm glad it's, I believe the second game.

Bonne nuit.

If not mentioned, that '74 game is bizarre, the Semi-Final in fact, I think, because of something with the way the ground got rained on, the field was flooded and at halftime, there is some story, that the water around the net the Poles defended was soaked up and cleaned up some but maybe not the German end. But of course, we can't worry about history.

It's kind of a spin and akin to the old story with the Patriots and Dolphins American football game I think, and the snow clearing machine came onto the football field to clear a spot on the field for the field goal kicker to kick the ball! I forget which team kicked it probably the Pats, but I am rather sure, it was in the snows of Massachussetts. It may even have a name attached to it.

Poland 2-1, that's my prediction. The better the opponent the better Poland plays.
