Thousands of angry fans began flooding out of the Gardens - and violence erupted when a small number began hurling bottles and cans at police forming a cordon on Oldham Street.
The police called for reinforcements as around 200 Rangers supporters intent on causing trouble rushed to the scene and began hurling abuse.
Around 60 officers with riot shields launched around a dozen baton charges to force the group back towards the Gardens. Meanwhile police and fans had running clashes on Market Street as bottles were hurled at officers trying to calm the crowd.
Elsewhere there were reports of cars being overturned, while six people were arrested after a Zenit fan was stabbed outside the stadium. The fan's injuries were not thought to be life threatening.

You know what annoys me more at times.
The fact is, EVERY other times something good or merit happens in this country its 'British' but they are all so quick to jump to us being a problem country now eh? So much for 'Good with the bad' people. Also, how anyone can turn around and pin this on Celtic fans as well is ridiculous we were back in our own country when it happened!
All this hard work with the Tartan Army for this to happen. Idiots, ruined everything.

today in work my friend was telling me about something that happened to his friend the other nite after the rangers game. his friends part of the riot police and was called as back up to a celtic pub in maryhill after it had been shut down. the fans had ran outside and decided to line across the road and stop cars from passing. when the back up poilice turned up and tryed to stop it the fans got aggressive and attacked the police knocking the guy to the ground and smashing his glasses and bursting his face open.
these people arent real celtic fans, the so called rangers fans that did what they did in manchester arent real rangers fans. they are called neds and we need to put up with them every day as part of living in scotland.
