Bayern, Group A: with Lyon, Celtic and Anderlecht. Doesn't appear to be very difficult, the most interesting aspect is to meet Olympique after selling Elber to them yesterday.

Stuttgart, Group E: with Man Utd, Panathinaikos and Glasgow Rangers. Tough job for them, but I think they should be able to at least play for the UEFA Cup spot.

Neither team can complain. When I saw Bayern's draw last year, I thought they were going to struggle. But this year, I don't see a team that's going to trouble them.

As for Stuttgart, I think this is a pretty good draw. Concede the group to ManU, but as between Pana, Rangers, and Stuttgart, I think any of these teams could snag the second spot. No gimme's between those three, but I don't see any of those teams dominating. If Stuttgart keeps its head and plays smart, I don't see any reason why they shouldn't advance (that's not to say they are favorites for the second spot--just to say that they are in it with as much of chance as Pana and Rangers).

After Dortmund's loss I feared that this EC season could be a disaster again for the Bundesliga like it was last season, but now after the draw i'd say it could have come much worse. As it was already pointed out in the previous posts, Bayern are the favorites in their group and Stuttgart should be able to do quite well (also with their performance of last year's UEFA cup in mind, e.g. vs. Celtic). When both reach the second roud that could compesate the loss for Germany of Dortmund not reaching the CL group stage (I love the UEFA five year's ranking-i always sit in front of my TV and try to calculate how the game i watch will change the ranking. Without them i wouldn't watch many European cup games as i usually have no motivation to watch a complete game of two teams i don't care for.)

Now if only German clubs could do well in the UEFA cup, which is basically a story of disapointments in the last years.
