From today's Fiver in the Guardian: "QPR have tried to quash rumours that they've got loads of money and can do what they want by appointing Iain Dowie as their new first-team coach." :D

Hey, if he leads the Club to Premiership, I'm all for it.

Heh.

Well...hopefully this is the Oldham/Palace Iain Dowie we're getting and not the Charlton/Coventry Iain Dowie. Before he went to Charlton, I would personally have been thrilled if QPR had landed Dowie as manager. Now, not so much.

Wow... it's been just two years since he left Palace. It seems longer, given that he's been with two teams and was in the news with the Palace lawsuit.

Tim Flowers has joined QPR (http://www.qpr.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~1315995,00.html) as assistant to Iain Dowie. He played with Dowie at Southampton and was an assistant to him at Coventry. Flowers had 11 caps for England as a goalkeeper. He coached some rugby, then moved to Oldham and Crystal Palace as Fitness Coach under Dowie. The club has also hired John Harbin as "Performance Manager."

Gareth Ainsworth has been appointed to a player-coach role. (http://www.qpr.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~1316169,00.html)
