I'm a starting ref, but a long time fan/player
I ref mostly under 10s and 12s, as i'm only 14. I was just wondering, is there any rules that you should bend a tad for these players, as they are younger and dont know the game as well? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Explain the calls. Don't be so quick to hand out yellows, since younger kids can be... meh... clumsy. Usually they just mistime things and stuff. And... stuff. Most of all, -explain the calls-. That's how the learn, not by 'bending the rules'... that could be one of the worst things to do, since they'll get used to pushing them. When they step up and try the same things, they'll be in for a world of frustration. And stuff. Hope this helped *_*

Handball is one that should be a little less strictly enforced. Kids that age are far more likely to put up their hands to shield their faces when a ball is kicked at them. If it's a reflex like that, it's not a bad idea to let the first one go but tell them not to do it again.
