Hi, Weird question but could anyone explain to me how to lean when I am striking the ball with the laces of the boot? It's odd last summer i seemed to be an expert at it but i just cannot do it anymore. Thanks for any help.

To keep it low and hard you need to stay over the ball as much as possible... Try not to lean back, which will make the ball rise...

Always make sure your ankle is locked as well

Thanks, both of you. But do you know what I mean, as in leaning to the side? so if I'm left footed as I strike the ball I would lean to my right.

Yeah, you would lean to your right, but not too much... The more you lean, the more your going to pull the ball and be off balance...

Don't think of what position your body should be in. Just think of the ball and how you want it to travel.
Then think of how the foot (and where on the foot) the ball must make contact.
Then do it.
Most goals are hardly scored or passes correctly made, with the body in perfect position.
But for ALL of them, the FOOT is in perfect position at the moment it hits the ball.

Try thinking about proper placement of your non-kicking foot instead of thinking directly about leaning. Like in golf placement of that foot influences how you strike the ball.

Actually it depends on what type of strike you're making. For a low snap shot you have to lean over the ball as much as possible. For a goal kick it's better to lift your head and lean back as you strike the ball, to get as much height and distance as possible.
