I recently(well beggining of march) fractured and messed up a tendon in my ankle and am almost to the point where i can take off my boot and start to get movement back and strengthen it. SOOO I was wondering if anyone has anything I can work on to improve my game, since ive been out for a while, without reinjuring myself. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Depends on which tendon and other variables. Talk to a physical therapist who can review your situation and discuss which movements will be the most beneficial to your injury. Good luck.

I truly hope you've been doing therapy on the ankle. The scar tissue begins to form almost immediately after the injury and the longer you wait, the harder it is to get rid of it. Once it sets in, scar tissue restricts mobility, causes pain and prevents full recovery. Especially in the case of serious injuries and yours sounds serious. So insofar as you of course worry about the game, focus first on regaining full range of motion and strength in that joint so you can then work on improving your game. If you don't work with one yet, go find a good PT or an ortho with a more holistic attitude (mine for example does acupuncture and bone manipulation in addition to being a board certified ortho). If you rush into playing, you might slow down the progress, which is exactly what happened to a buddy of mine. 11-12 weeks is about the average recovery time for serious ankle sprains.

I feel ur pain and I hope you don't rush back. I foolishly rush myself back and it has been 9 months since my injury. So I just had an MRI and they found out that the tendons haven't healed so it's most probably rehab for me, but I'm thinking about surgery, especially with all the possible scar tissue build up. Not to steal your thunder Bunkernate, but has anyone had ankle surgery? If so could they explain their experience and rehab/results. Any info would be appreciated.
