Two purposes for this thread.
ONE: IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT "WHAT BOOT SHOULD I GET?" OR "HOW DOES THIS BOOT FIT?" OR "WHICH OF THESE BOOTS SHOULD I GET" OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, POST HERE. All boot questions and queries should go here instead of posting a new thread. If you have any questions for people who have written reviews, post them here too.
TWO: IF YOU HAVE NEW BOOTS AND WOULD LIKE TO WRITE A REVIEW, POST IT HERE. A moderator will then update the locked list with your review so others can refer to it.
For reference purposes, the Boot Review thread is here. (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=688911)
PS: A hint. Please don't say "I want boots". Here are some questions you may want to answer:
What boots have you owned in the past?
How did they fit?
Were they tight?
Were they loose?
Was there space in the toebox?
Did you have any problems with them?
Did you get blisters?
Did you like the fit?
What kind of fit do you like?
Do you like space in the toebox?
Do you like a snug fit?
Do you like a loose fit?
What do you look for in a boot?
Lightweight?
Touch?
Comfort?
Lace cover?
Do you want any particular material?
What surfaces do you play on?
Is it just one surface or are you using the boots on different surfaces?
Do you want the boot to wear in quickly?
What do you like looks wise?
How long do you intend on having the boots?

Can you guys recommend me some boots that fit these criteria:
- firm ground
- traditional round studs
- Adidas
- Full-grain leather
So far I have Telstar and Telstar II. Thank you.
Also, what's a place in Ontario (preferably Toronto and Hamilton) that has these boots?

i'm thinking about gettin a pair of predators.
but i don't know which: pulse, absolute or powerswerve?
the price doesn't matter, just don't know if the newer ones are better than the previous models.
and what you think of the f50.8 or f30.8?

That's quite specific so I'd probably say the Telstars are the only two that will fit that spec. If you were willing to expand, say, the material, you could possibly start looking into Profi's and Copa's.

Perhaps try answering a few of the questions about fit and so forth and some Predator wearers will be able to comment on the differences, you've not been very specific.

If I were to get another pair of Predators, I'd definitely pick up the Absolutes. I've owned all three, and the Absolutes were the best for me. I've owned my Absolutes for a while now, and they fit like slippers now. Extremely comfortable.

Nike Mercurial Vapor IV Red/Gold FG
I am writing this review so you guys know what to expect in your first few times of wear in these boots... Don't get me wrong, they are gorgeous and good cleats... it just takes lots of patience and pain to break in the shoe... My MVIII (last pair of vapor) took about 3-4 games to break in, but afterward it became my favorite cleats of all time... So I am expecting the same from these :)
Sizing 9/10: I normally wear US8.5 for my Nike boots, good fit for the Vapor IV in US8.5. So I think it is about right... But all potential buyers should take note that it is a very tight fit around the ankle, but there are lots of room up front around the toes.
Aesthetics 12/10: Best looking boots I have seen! Don't know what else to say~
Value 10/10: I paid about $250, thats including Goal club membership, custom fees, and shipping. Compare to up here in Canada, I have seen stores selling them at $289.99 + tax(13%).
Comfort 5/10: Two blisters in two games... Both on the back of the heel... It is from the combination of the super hard carbon fibre heel counter and the stitching of the foam... The stitching has given me a bloody blister on each heel... Take note that I tape my foot and use vaseline on the shoe... So expect lots of blisters until you fully break them in, especially if you don't vaseline the shoe...
Performance 5/10: Comfort = performance... atm it is a 5/10 because of how hard the heel counter is and the blister... However, I am sure if you tape your foot and vaseline the shoe, it isn't too bad(like what I did). If you don't do that, then expect a blister gallery and don't complain.
Durability: Only 2 games so far... no problem yet...
Accessories: A matching colored Shoe bag!
Comparison: They sorta feel like my Strikes, being how comfortable it is around the toes... but the heel area is super tight and give mad blisters... just like the MVIII before it was broken in...
Overall Evaluation 7/10: I think I am the only person that will give it such a low score... but only get this if you like the design and lightness of the boots... its not the lightest but it is good looking and light... however, expect your first many times of wearing it to be blisterful... lol
I fully expected this when I bought the cleats, hence I am not complaining. You have gotta deal with the problem if you decide to get these.
Complaint: WHY THE **** did Nike use that STUPID SILLY foam thing again on the heel... why?!?!?! It was proven to give loads of blister to like 99% of the population of Earth... It's not like it makes it extra comfortable or anything... I don't know any other Nike shoes that use the foam, only the Vapors! The Strikes are extremely comfortable without the foam, same with the Legends... so why do the vapor have these?? It is so unfortunate that they still leave this silly gimmick in the shoe... My Strikes didn't give ANY blister... Time to throw away the stupid foam Nike...

Call me crazy, but my Legends II's give me waaaay more blisters than the IV's gave me. The grippy insole of the Air Legends is nice and all, but damn does that thing hurt sometimes, especially on artificial turf.

I've only ever tried on Legend I's and I've always wondered if the stickiness of the insole would cause problems but I've seen a few people on these threads using Superfeet insoles in boots. If you can't find a stockist then they have an online sore which unfortunately only sells with the US. Fortunately though there are a coule of eBay sellers that stock them. Just a suggestion.

okay, i had like 4 pairs of the pulses, i liked them reeeaaly, but the problem is, they are hard to find and they crack very easy.
If I were to get another pair of Predators, I'd definitely pick up the Absolutes. I've owned all three, and the Absolutes were the best for me. I've owned my Absolutes for a while now, and they fit like slippers now. Extremely comfortable.
i wore the absolute sg a few times, but the material around the ankle isn'T made of leather, so it's very hard, so my quest. is, does it get softer?
and what about the powerswerves? they are not so good?

I wanted to now which size of Puma King would be best for me considering I've had:
Mercurial III 12
Air Legend 11.5

I've got Puma King Execs but have only ever tried on Air Legend I's at a sports store, I was the same size in both. The fit was what I would describe as "comfortably snug" :).

Okay I'm probably being crap.
Can't find much about Turf boots using the search, so this seemed the most appropriate section.
I'm after a pair of boots for Astro Turf.
What boots have you owned in the past? Nike Total 90 Strike - Turf (http://images.sportsshoes.com/product/N/NIK2543A/NIK2543A_250_1.jpg)
How did they fit? Very nice once worn in, very tight to begin with, mainly on the foot.
Was there space in the toebox? Not much
Did you have any problems with them? Until now, nope. Suffer a large gash on the inside of the left boot (standing foot).
Did you get blisters? Nope
Did you like the fit? Not until after 3/4 games.
What kind of fit do you like? More spacious on the foot
Do you like a snug fit? Yes
Do you like a loose fit? No
What do you look for in a boot? Generally prefer a Gray/Silver colour with black, but will settle for any colour, bar Blue or Yellow, as long as the boot is comfortable
Lightweight? Very much prefered
Touch? Simular to the Total 90.
Comfort? Preferably more comfortable than the Total 90 in toebox, but as long as the heel doesn't cause many blisters, not really much of a problem
Lace cover? Prefer without, but not a problem
Do you want any particular material? Same as the Total 90, or simular. Preferably more Synthetic than leather. Prefer a lightweight material.
What surfaces do you play on? Astroturf. Not very heavy in Sand. May play on concrete from time to time, but the main priority is Astroturf.
Is it just one surface or are you using the boots on different surfaces? See above ^_^
Do you want the boot to wear in quickly? Within 2-3 games yes.
What do you like looks wise? Not a priority, but if possible white primiary with black secondary colour. Prefably not a light blue, yellow, or orange. But if it does the job, not an issue.
How long do you intend on having the boots? 4-6 months, of an hour session once a week. Increasing to maxium of 2 one hour sessions a week on occasion.
Again, thanks for putting up with a noob. I've looked around and can't really tell what I want. I've seen the Nike Mercurial Veloci (http://www.prodirectsoccer.com/prodinfo.asp?PID=PDS-002-009-998&DEPT=2&DEPTTYPE=2_Astro&BRAND=009), but heard of bad reviews of blisters on the heel. Something I'd prefer to avoid if possible.
Priorities. Touch > Comfort > Passing > Shooting > Looks

To the above poster
I think the Turf Strike is one of the best turf shoe around... Or you could get the air mystics turf~ I have them in Indoor, not turf. The leather soften up real nicely after a few games, the fit is comfortable(i have slightly wide feet).
Not the best comparison but I have the Air Mystics indoor and the Strike FG... Mystics have a better touch imo... but I think I shoot better in the Strikes, it could be just Nike marketing playing with my mind though.....
Both are pretty comfortable imo... I use the Strikes for practices and friendly matches... and I use the mystics pretty much every indoor games... I have had the mystics for 2 winter seasons now, and they're holding up pretty well~ 2 games a week, 1-2 hours each time during the Canadian winter (5-6 months).
