puma should just make like every simple color (red blue green yellow purple orange black white gold silver im probably missing a color), give it that same glossy look. i bet some people would get them because the boot would match there kit well.

i went to my local (sorta) soccer shop today and tried on the v1.08s seeing as they look good and i thought they would be as comfortable as my .06s. wow i was wrong they are really stiff feeling and it felt like i had the widest feet in the world even though i have super narrow feet. i was also not like they didn't fit the were perfect in length but they just felt horrible. my opinion is that unless your feet are 3 inches wide do not get them. does anyone else feel the same

you arent basing your opinion on the boot with one try at the shop do you? and trying to convince other people that they are no good when you dont own a pair?

I tried on the Tricks today at my local shop. They didn't feel too bad. Really light, but I'm not sure how the rubber/plastic part on the sweetspot would feel when shooting and passing. They were better than I thought they would be though, and look amazing in person.
I also was surprised by the King XL's. They aren't as bulky as they look in the stock photos, and the leather felt pretty good.
I can't really say much about the boots though, since I just tried them on and walked around in them, but I must say I'm pretty impressed.

i think puma overreacted to be criticized for a lack of a toe box in the .06 and they over did the toe box on the kings and .08

The toe boxes looked bad in the stock photos, yes, but after seeing them both in person it really doesn't seem like it would be much of an issue. The front of the 1.08's wasn't exaggerated and the front of the XL's was so soft that it would probably conform to your foot.

I just can't believe people complain about lack of toe box. The 1.06s felt like socks, they were amazing. Screw durability, all you have to do is take good care of them, and shoe goo any gaps between the upper and sole as soon as they form.

what exactly is the purpose of a toe box? to help durability?

I'm not sure about the v1.08s. I've seen them and tried them on in person many times, but I'm not sure if I want to buy them. I keep hearing good and bad things. I am soooo tempted to buy these!

I would say get them if you have a narrow foot. There's really not other choice.
I was very skeptical to buy them, just because of how ugly they are, and the toe box.
But after a minute of juggling with them, I loved them. The toe box doesn't even get in the way of juggling, since you're not supposed to juggle with the toes. The slight curve on the forefoot puts nice little backspin when juggling, which I like since I juggle low to the ground. When kicking and shooting, the toe box perfectly hugs the ball, so it doesn't affect shots at all, and dribbling is very nice in them. Very thin upper once broken in a little, and the rubber n the forefoot grips the ball perfectly.
They become slippers once you wear them for a couple games. Once the chassis, sockliner, and whole upper breaks in, they form to your foot perfectly, its an amazing shoe. It would be perfect if it was remotely good looking, although its personal opinion.
edit: I'm still getting some Euro Vaps once they get into my local store, since they're so nice looking.

I appreciate the feedback. I've been trying to get decent feedback forever and no one has given it to me. I'm just concerned because I'm hooked on my MV IIs and I also have my MV IIIs that are slightly big on me. I just want a snug ergonomic fit with excellent touch. I think the textile and microfiber conflict each other

I thought that too, but it doesn't at all. I thought the rough textile crap would hurt my feet and ruin my touch, but it doesn't. I wish the microfiber stuff still took up the whole fore foot (just for the same grip on all parts), and the textile in the back since it doesn't stretch. But it doesn't hurt it at all, they're great shoes for narrow feet. I wish I had normal feet, then I would be wearing adipures, but they're just too wide for me. I'm stuck with v1.06, v1.08, and vapors (even though the IVs are still kinda wide on me)

My puma king eusebio's should be arriving today. If anyone is interested, I'll let you know my thoughts on them. Good to hear from someone else here that they're not as bulky as they look though. That was my initial worry.

That's funny, that kind of contradicts what you said in a previous post:
"I shot around in my 1.06 today and was amazed of the difference from the 1.06 to the 1.08 (the 1.08 is worse, btw). The ball goes where you hit it, no bulges or weird spin from massive toe boxes, just your foot."

In no way did I say the 1.08 doesn't do that either.
I just said the 1.06 is better because it fits better. The 1.08 is still wide in the forefoot now, which is why its worse.

Which implies that the ball does not go where you hit it, and the boot creates a weird spin when using the V1.08.
To this: "When kicking and shooting, the toe box perfectly hugs the ball, so it doesn't affect shots at all, and dribbling is very nice in them. Very thin upper once broken in a little, and the rubber n the forefoot grips the ball perfectly."

I'm talking about the 1.06 has no bulges or anything in it. I just said the 1.06 is better than the 1.08 for reasons I've stated.
Why are you arguing with me, are you trying to tell me what I think?

No, you just seem to be saying two different things that go against each other.

Are the Eusebio's the new gold King XL's?

No, they're the maroon XL's. They were like $20 more than the black/gold/white versions.

It's been raining here so I haven't had a chance to wear them yet but out of the box, they're awesome. Lighter and less bulky than they appear and they fit true to size, if not a hair wide in the heel. Leather is top notch in appearance but will certainly need some breaking in. I'll get two games in this weekend, weather permitting so I'll get a better read on touch, etc. then. Just a really classy, first class shoe. Comes with a leather-like shoe bag and care kit and a nice little book with some puma/Eusebio history.
