1. "Borough boys are douchebags..why don't they root for the Red Bulls while they're waiting?"

We do root for the team located in New Jersey, well most of us. And have since 96

2. "Borough Boys are tw@ts , they picked Mets colors..second rate"

We picked those colors because.....they're the official colors of New York City. Try looking at a NYC flag

3. "Borough Boys are plastic..They only hate the Red Bulls because they're from New Jersey"

No..we have about 20 different reasons..but it seems like most of you RB fans don't want to address those issues . {see reasons why we don't root for RB's}

Multiple pages in less than 24 hours. For a group without a team they sure pay a lot of attention to us. Isn't there a MLS season going on?

And for some reason people still dont get that we are here b/c the league has mentioned NYC2 over and over again. Take it up with the league you whiney little children.

Oh yea.......thanks for the free advertisement.

Don't you guys have a season to worry about?

1. "Metrologist" is the only guy on those boards that has any
sense of his own club, and what we are doing.
Thanks...we have a spot open for you whenever you're ready
to join:D

2. To the A**clown who thinks we are using "mets" colors...
you are obviously from New Jersey.
The City Flag....the City that is in the name of your team...
the colors are Orange, Blue and White.....
kind of like the ESC flag you guys like to post in our forums....
You'd think you'd know that by now....

sorry...we're just a bunch of "plastic" fans.....

Why don't the new jersey nets, devils, or bulls use new york orange and blue? Is that cuz the NEW YORK knicks, islanders, and NYFC use them?

I just finished reading their complete thread. WOW what a read. But after a little debate I've come to the conclusion that their anger and hatred is more about themselves than any hatred they have against us.

WHY? Well ever since the rebranding, the ESC has been involved in an internal struggle. It's almost as if from one day to the next you find out you are adopted and you struggle to find your identity. They are suffering that fate now.

At the same time, the issue of MLS2NYC is gaining prominence. The Boro Boys are created and become a force in NYC. Garber continues to speak openly on the topic and the ESC #'s continue to dwindle. Members talk openly about leaving. They then begin to see this MLS2NYC movement as the cause and the BORO BOYS as the obvious target.

We shouldn't take this to heart boys as it really is their own internal squabbling that is triggering this. Granted that it will probably get more heated before the dust settles but we should take it with a grain of salt.

Sit back, grab a drink and watch the implosion. After the dust has settled then we can engage! For now lets keep the momentum going and continue making moves!!!

Before someone reads my sig and tosses an insult my way, understand I mean no harm or malice...

I'm just a bit confused.

I am a RBNY fan, by default. I'm a jersey kid living in Manhattan, and got my sports career started in MLS as an intern with Metro. I root for RBNY because if there is a team from NJ, I root for it, and if not - I pick a New York team (Devils, Nets, Mets, and Jets - for whoever cares).

I think it would be great to have a team in NYC. I would love it. I am a bitter RBNY fan who has very little to thank Metro for as a fan. I may even switch my allegiance to the NYC team once it arrives.

That being said, though...Why all the hate? Why is it that the Borough Boys DESPISE the current metropolitan area team? Wouldn't it serve the group better to focus their energies on rallying support for a new MLS team, as opposed to wasting time attempting to disparage the current team and its fans?

I'm curious.

No one should insult you b/c you didn't come in here to insult us.In my opinion we really dont hate RB. We are concerned with the possibility of a team in NYC.It is what we hear out of Garber that rallied us around the idea. Everyone has their individual opinion but as a group we dont hate RB. For now we wish them well b/c it will help the sport in the tri-state area. We would be stupid to focus our energy on sh*tting on RB.

You are confused...Who DESPISES the Red Bulls & its fans ?? US ?? ..No , we are concentrating on getting a NYC team. The remarks you see above are from your fans. Talking about us, when we've stated time & time & time & time again., THAT WE DO ROOT FOR THE RED BULLS in the meantime. I'll say it one more time..WE DO ROOT FOR THE RED BULLS. I think you need to ask your fellow Jersey peeps , why they waste so much time & energy on talking about us. That team has NO connection to Queens, Brooklyn or the Island. NONE. That is not our fault. Sorry if this comes off a bit cvntish...But we've gone over this a million times.

Yes - many of us still root - then there are some that done for their own reasons (branding i think wins that). We do not despise the RB - for now - but there is going to be a rivalry

We talk our NY - NJ stuff - but its in fun - like you said - you root for a team if they are from NJ because you were born and bred. Since day one the league has said 2 NY teams - one in NJ and one either in Queens or LI - so since Day 1 I have been waiting for this team! I follow the league, and hope for it to grow but wanted that team that is easier for me to access and closer to HOME! As an obvious supporter of NJ you can understand that. Now the talks are more than ever and it seems like now is the time for us to come out of waiting and do something.

Now back on point - we have tried many of times to be civil - let everyone know that we are not looking for riots! We are not looking to be a FIRM who wants to beat them up - no room for that in sports - we just want our team in the area we were born and raised!!! No hatred for the RB - -- - YET :)

Yes - we have written songs - started threads really going against them - but its part of the rivalry we hope that one day that will be the best in the league!

As one of the most vocal in the group towards the Red Bulls. I would like to say that no one here, myself included, hates the Red Bulls. I think that the hate part really comes from the more vocal supporters of the ESC that just don't like our movement. They feel intimidated by and scared by the idea of a real NYC team in MLS.

Personally I feel that they are confused on a few things the main one being that they believe that we used to be RB fans and now have decided to leave the team. This is occuring at a time when there is SEVERE infighting within the ESC. Their loss of identity because of the RED BULL buy out is spilling over as hate for us and their own fellow fans.

You have two camps of RB supporters:
1. Soy del Metro - Metro supporter that will not accept the new team, will never call them RB
2. Soy del Bull - Don't care bc RB has more money than god and thats ok because they will now invest a BILLION dollars into the club. They dont mind chanting for RB.

So now you have an internal struggle for identity and we happen to be an easy punching bag for them to take out their agressions. They blame us for several things that is going wrong with RBNJ. Things like having poor attendance. They lash out at us for "not supporting your local side" etc etc. Had we jumped on the scene at any other time I'm sure that things between us would be different. But then again, this is how the folklore of soccer is written, no?

You are more than welcome to join with us in this cause. Come out, hang and makes a few friends. We will forgive you for being from Jersey, not everyone can be perfect! lol lol lol Just teasing!

My god they are angry, I don't understand why. Other than the occaisional Onionsack Cosmos battle there is very little aggro from our side.
I think I do agree with Cosmos though they need some1 to rag on and we are first choice.

well credit to them - they are intense about that team - they really are solid supporters and im sure in their shoes - hearing about our cause would anger us a bit to! As long as it just stays cool man - Green St. Hooligans is a movie - no need for that stuff in sports!

At this point - there is so much going on with the BB right now thats all I really worry about! OF course we need more people to be involved.

I don't think that anyone on this side questions their dedication OR intensity, if anything we point it out and remark how admirable it is. The real problem with the ESC's leadership is that their is a growing identity crisis between the old metro supporters and the ones that have remained.

This obviously leads to discontent amongst themselves and they see us as the logical target. The ESC leadership and members feel that those that left have either:

1. joined us
2. will join us
3. are the ones that started this movement.

They couldn't be farther from the truth.

In the end they are simply going thru a rough patch and will need to work this out amongst themselves. In the meantime we have a nice front row seat of the fireworks.
