Apparently they refused to play in a reserve match.

Interesting that Murty and Oster had no problem suiting up for it.

Some quotes from Coppell: (http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/readingfc/s/2027074_sonko_and_fae_banned)

They have been fined and been suspended, but they have a right to appeal.
As far as I’m concerned it’s an internal measure and it will stay with in the club.
I want people here who are committed to the club not themselves.
I don’t care about the long-term as it’s all about what happens now. We have two massive games and that is all we’re concentrating on. I will re-assess the situation in the summer.

Very surprising to me that the players would make a mistake like this. I can understand Coppell's ire. Let's hope this galvanizes the rest of the team.

Regardless of whether Reading stays up or not, it seems that Coppell has lost the locker room. It may be time to bring in a new voice.

Professionals, right. Its good Coppell showed a little bit of emotion, might wake the others up a bit.

This is the first time I ever heard of any desent againt Coppell. I don't think the performance on the pitch is any indication that he lost the locker room. I think we are seeing a case where a lot of folks played above their heads last season, and that wasn't seen until this year. If we stay up, more money needs to be spent, specifically up front. If we go down, I think an instant rebound is all but guarenteed even if we stay pat. Then the money could be spent next summer to build the team for a proper premier league presence.

Fae lets fly his gripes (http://sport.setanta.com/en/Sport/News/Football/2008/05/01/Prem-Fae-exclusive-on-leaving-Reading/). Astonishing I must say, considering Coppell would be better off starting a wooden plank in midfield than Fae. The wooden plank would at least rebound a few balls the opposite direction.

Think we can get an offer from Sunderland for him? Joking aside I think its now obvious that there have been significant locker room problems that have exacerbated the on field troubles. Sonko should rebound and hopefully offloading the French speaking ivory coaster will remove one bad influence from the squad.

Did he ever do anything? Even for the reserves? Getting a big transfer fee is not a promise of playing time.
