There are rumours that Hannover 96 are looking at signing Julian de Guzman. Any news on that??
No but we are hoping and praying. :D
He was and still is very popular.
I do remember the MLS rumor though and there is no way we can even pay a quarter of that.
And more importantly, we don't really need another defensive midfielder, we need a #10 and a forward.

Was anyone that impressed with a losing result against 1899 Hoffenheim to think there was justification to keep Andreas Bergmann on as Cheif trainer through the season's end?
I am mystified? While I understand Bergmann has done a good job on the U-23 level, I just don't see the logic here unless it comes down to money. 96 is off to a 1-1-2 start and the front line looked apathetic with only Djakpa or Ya Konan showing any threat.
I am interested to know otheras opinions on the matter.

Dude, the end result isn't always the most important thing to come out of a match. It's the most important thing overall, yes, but you can learn things even in losses.
Especially if your team is reacting well to the new coach.
I think two things work in Bergmann's favor.
1) He's cheap and seems to be effective. Before this match, I would have said H96 would lose 3-0 or 4-1.
2) No one else worth spending money on seems to want the job.......

There's a new TV ad put out by Under Armor here in the States that features a "Day in the Life" POV of Chicago Bears Punt Returner/Receiver Devin Hester. At around the 0:56 second mark, Hester greets a number of friends playing Madden 10; one of which is sporting a white Hannover 96 shirt. I was watching and the TUI sponsor popped out at me...and sure enough, the 96 badge was over the left breast. Interesting bit of UA doing their own product placement.
here's the video:

and the shirt in question:

Good fight by Hannover to take a point home from Bremen today.
It was terribly boring but against Bremen I take that every time. :D
I really would have wished that Konan was a great buy but I think he really isn't more than a good solid 2. Bundesliga player.
Stajner continues to amaze me.
I really hope Özil and Marin were tired because if this was Germany's future then I feel really scared.

Have you seen the "Özil-worshipping" already going on at the Bayern thread?
Of course, some of them are already scheming about how Bayern can steal him from Bremen.
Great point guys! I'd always be happy with taking a point off Bremen.

Now Forssell is out for 3 months. This is just rediculous.

DAMN!! You are right. What is going on there??
But, at least you guys have us this weekend. You'll get points off our crappy team.
Enke might have Lyme disease/borreliosis.
Seriously, our medical situation is almost comical.
So Enke is not so bad, should return in 2 weeks but Fromlowitz has been surprisingly spectacular in his absence.
So glad that Ya Konan got his first goal, poor guy was soo frustrated. Shouldn't have counted of course but these things even out over the season.
Loved his celebration.
6 points in 6 games is rather bad but I'm not too concerned. They look a lot better than last season even though the last two games were a little bit worse than the 4 before but the injury situation is really rediculous.
Here is a nice graphic the user 'Pokalheld' posted in the fanmagazin forum (http://www.das-fanmagazin.de/forum/hannover_96/alles_rund_um_hannover_96/p1189660-medizinische_abteilung/#post1189660):

This is why I was excited for you guys when you first got him. This kid has the potential to be the next "Kahn". He does. I worried because he seemed to be too full of himself, but if you guys got that out of him, you have another great keeper.

You are right. It shouldn't have counted, but I don't have hard feelings toward the referee or the very alert ball boy who got the new ball in quickly for Hannover get play going again.
They should give that ball boy some money or something! LOL!!
I really can't complain for the following reasons:
First, it is just as you said. These things even out over the course of a season.
Second, Weidenfeller should have punched that ball away. It looked obvious to me that Weidenfeller thought Konan was going to shoot the far side and Konan simply belted it and got the luck he needed.
Third, as a BVB fan, I can't really bitch about how Konan scored because we had enough chances to win that match. We didn't get the job done as we never do against you guys....

Just hang in there. Things should get better rather than worse for you guys.

'dolo played for the US tonight against Costa Rica in a WCQ, after sitting out this weekend's game against Honduras. He played REALLY well. Best I've seen from him in a long time. No goals or assists, but really solid defensively and was dangerous getting forward.
Unfortunately Dolo had a horrible game for 96 one again.
I seriously think it's time for him and 96 to part ways when his contract runs out.
He was never offensively gifted but right now he loses too many battles and it's just frustrating to watch.
It was a bad loss, Frankfurt clearly wasn't better than us, their defense was in shambles at times and still we couldn't win it. The midfield is horrible without Djakpa. No ideas and way too slow.
Clearly the worst game of the season so far. Let's blame it on the international games.
Let's hope Rausch is back soon so that Djakpa can go back to left-wing.
Still no news on when Hanke or Andreasen will return. Forssell and Schlaudraff certainly won't return before the 2nd half of the season.

There's a spot in MLS awaiting him.......
I really don't think he would want to play anywhere other than Hannover here in Deutschland.
H96's Kicker Ratings From The Frankfurt Match:
Fromlowitz 4, Cherundolo 5, Haggui 3.5, Schulz 3, Djakpa 5, Balitsch 4.5, Sofian Chahed 4.5, Rosenthal 3, Bruggink 4, Stajner 4, Ya Konan 4.5, Pinto 4

That's too bad...I was hoping his play against Costa Rica last week was indicative of him getting back in-form. I suppose he might just be tired from all the international travel, but he's not getting any younger, and sooner or later the excuses for poor performances wear thin. It doesn't matter what the reason is, if they never get any better, something has to happen. :(
We have a 96 streetcar in Hannover now:
