Yep.
How many season cards have been sold so far? I thought 96 was on track on that one, no?
Less than last year and that number was very low in comparison to other Bundesliga clubs.
But why should 96 fans buy a season ticket.
Right now the stadium is too big anyway and it's not hard to get a ticket.

The game tomorrow won't be shown on TV, will it?

kicker reports that you've taken Nelson Cuevas, the Paraguayan international, on trial.
He couldn't even get a starting job with U. de Chile (in Chile) and was recently on trial at Twente E. (Holland) and he didn't make much of an impression there, either (if he's at H96). Doubt he gets offered a deal and if he does, I would highly doubt that he contributes much.
Even that news is depressing considering he's 29, played in China before and is behind Valdez in the picking order.

Horrible 1st half, the 2nd half not as bad, mainly due to Arsenal being weaker. If we keep playing like that I doubt we are ready for the start of the season, let's hope Trier isn't neither.
Paying that much money for the match seems stupid, but tell that to Kind.
Nice that Tanne got this match, even though it's sad that we needed fans protesting to get it.

What a disgrace!
Seems like Hecking has to leave for things to improve.
Too late for that.
They should have canned him last season. To do it now or three games into the season is too little too late.
I'm disgusted really. And depressed. I actually like the cup and it is the easiest way to Europe.
Awesome start to the season. Can't wait to see all these losers in Berlin next saturday.

I remember how badly I felt when Trier knocked BVB out of the German Cup Round of 16 back in '97.
Sorry guys. :(

Hannover has expressed some interest in getting Jan Simak back. He only has a substitute's role at VfB going into this season and has expressed his will to move clubs. I don't know of any clubs so far other than you who have shown interest.

That would be either quite a good move or the stupidest move ever.... Hmmm
€: forgot the good.

Can't wait to see F96's response to that! :D

Don't see why it would be a stupid move. He's cheap and he'd be a starter at Hannover. He showed in the Pokal that he's still got good abilities and great technique, and I think he would be good for a club like Hannover.

Of course YOU would think that of him.
The Hannover fans have very different memories of him.
And some of them might think a bit more of themselves than you think of them.
Sure, he'd start in Hannover, but what would he really add??
What did he add to your club in his time there??

He didn't have a great impact at our club, but he still showed at times what he was capable of. And if you think that VfB and H96, currently, should have the same standards for their players, that's too idealistic. Fact is they currently do not have our squad nor our funds, and the only way they can one day plan to gain a similar squad and funds is to slowly move up the Bundesliga echelons with players that are good FOR THE LEVEL at which Hannover is currently at. Now, were Hannover a title contender, then yes, Simak wouldn't help them much. But rather, they are a side who have avoided relegation fights (that's already progress from 3rd league, to 2nd to surviving first years in 1st to consolidating their 1st league position) in their first years but have now stagnated in their progress in the last 3-4 seasons, stuck in the lower-middle table. Now Simak certainly has the calibre to help them and improve at the stage the club is currently in.
He is (and this is now solely my opinion) a better leftwinger than Krzynowek and a better playmaker than Bruggink. An upgrade for the side. AND, he'd only cost 400,000 euros. So if he turns out a total failure, so what?? It would not have been a big investment and you'd be hard-pressed to find a player with a multiyear contract who would cost less than Simak whilst being as good or better.
I really can't see anything that would be bad for Hannover if they were to buy him.
Everyone here wants Simak, I just am so sick of hearing about it.
EVERY off-season and transfer-window there is talk about Simak coming back and every time Kind had been saying that they don't want him back, angering all 96 fans in the process.
Most if not all 96 fans adore him unconditionally, he threw dirt at us and we still adore him and would take him back immediately. We'll never get over him.
If we got him back, we'd sell more than 5000 tickets more for the first game of the season, that's just how much the name still means here.
He's still the best 96 player I have ever seen and that includes Enke and Mertesacker.
Sure, he's not the player he once was, but he's still help us a lot.

We are talking about the same Czech that said Hannover was the boringest city n Germany, was found in a depressed, drunken stupor and nearly suicidal in Prague. Correct?
This guy couldn't help Jena avoid relegation to the 3 Liga. He shown well a few times at VfB and that was a rare showing. I think he is a case of throwing good money after bad. IMHO
I was quite surprised at the Deutschepokal result and would have thought that Hecking is on the hot seat for improving results or will be seeing his "pink slip" soon. Hannover has money to spenmd and asn't done it. I am afraid you and Steve Cherundolo may be looking into the abis of another relegation battle.
Hope I am wrong . . . Woody

Yes, exactly that one.
But also that one:
YouTube - LR Ahlen - Hannover 96 "Die Jan Simak Show"
As F96 said, easily the best player who ever played in Hanover, beating Mertesacker and Enke. Also when he came back while we were in BL1 he was great to watch, he easily had his best matches in Hanover. That said I am totally not sure whether that move would be good or not. His footballing skills are surely worth the money, but it feels like getting together with a partner who cheated on you twice already.
