Congrats to Zizzo for his Bundesliga debut, I kinda wonder if his first game for 96 could also have been his last?!
I don't see him starting next season and I don't know if he wants to play 5th level?!

As a part of the Mertesacker transfer H96 was promised €750.000 if Bremen got a direct qualification for Champions league.
Loosing heavily to Bremen gives them an advantage before the last round, but honestly I think Hannover just cracked.

If Hannover tries to win, they have a chance at a spot. Losing to werder just for 750.000 is not that smart.
so it's surely because they cracked not because they wanted to lose.;)

C'mon man...Not even I as a Schalke fan are suggesting that H96 threw that game on purpose :D
It was just one of those silly results that turn up on a regular basis when German teams play.
This 96 team lost 1:5 in Cottbus.
Yes, they obviously have an attitude problem.
No news on the Huszti front.
Apparently 96 offred him a base salary of €1.500.000 and his manager didn't even call back yet. :D
I kinda understand him because looking at what other clubs are paying their best players this probably isn't even close.
Now 96 needs to decide if it would be better to keep for another season and lose him for free or sell him now for about €3.000.000 (according to Hochstätter nobody offered more yet).
Imo you probably won't get an equal player for that amount plus they save a higher salary so I think they'll keep him.

The problem is that several clubs offer much better wages...:(
The advantage is that these clubs most probably already have good players in his position...:D
So I agree with you, he´ll stay with 96 but with a better wage, something like €3m p.a perhaps?
I´m not sure how much 96 spend on wages generally I must admit.

I think I didn't really make myself clear.
I don't think he'll resign with 96 because we don't have the money he wants but 96 won't sell him for only €3.000.000 either which means they'll keep him for the upcoming season for the very low current base salary (something like 250.000) and lose him for free after that.
Enke and Schlaudraff are the top earners at 96 with a base salary of €2.000.000 and they won't give Huzsti more than that.
When I read that Arne Friedrich earns €4.000.000 I couldn't believe it.

Damned if you do and damned if you don´t...
Well, H96 surely got a policy for cases like this, at Schalke it´s pretty straightforward as any player that wants to leave just have to say so..We don´t belive in keeping unmotivated players.
As for Huszti the problem is that if he´s the best player he´ll never accept staying another year at that salary.
You might get a Webster case (where the player breaks the contract and pays the sum of his remaining salaries in compensation) coming up.
Oh, Huszti has always been very honest about all this, he wants a new contract (and it's not outrageous to demand as much as Enke or Schlaudraff) with a much higher salary but if 96 doesn't give in he'd stay for sure and give his best next season. He won't be unmotivated at all, that's not the guy he is.
He's not the bad guy in all of this and 96 isn't either. It's just the way it is.

Friedrich earns 3.5 mio euros according to Bild and MoPo. It's Pantelic who WANTS 4 mio euros a year.

Friedrich still isn't worth that!
But I can see Pantelic demanding that much. You guys would be Nuernberg without him.
Yes still pretty crazy money.
Great win yesterday even though I didn't see it yet as I was in Cologne and met the Wolfsburg team at the way back at an autobahn rest stop.
(Until then it was a great day. :D)
96II also won their very important match against VFL Oldenburg 3:1 today.
Huge respect to Sal Zizzo who played 79 minutes after playing the whole second half yesterday.

10. (10.) Eintr. Braunschweig II 32 12 10 10 6 44:38 46
Heeslingen won't get a license for the new Regionalliga so it looks pretty good.
I was actually looking forward to have 96II and Braunschweig in the same league next season but I just read that it's very possible that 96II could end up in the Regionalliga West and not join Braunschweig in the Nord.
Of course it's still very much possible for Braunschweig to finish 10th in the Regionalliga to make the new 3. Bundesliga.
A heartfelt goodbye goes to Darius "Darek" Zuraw.
He played his last game for 96 yesterday. Darius was a member of the team that got 96 promoted to the 1. Bundesliga. He always gave his best, never complained and was just a very pleasant person.
I hope he finds a great 2. Bundesliga club with a good atmosphere and continue to have a few nice years.
His quote from the official 96 hp (http://www.hannover96.de/CDA/aktuelles/news/detailansicht.html?tx_ttnews%5Btt_news%5D=5447&cHash=0ff71bce22)
96-Veteran Dariusz Zuraw: „I was very lucky that I could play here. I achieved a lot with 96. When I joined, 96 was still in the 2. Liga, we got promoted and I wish 96 all the best for the future. After 7 years this day was very emotional but I couldn't have wished for a better farewell-game. The farewell was sensational. It was very nice that the fans said good-bye like this. Thank you to all fans!"
No thank YOU Darek! :)

Also of course congratulations Robert Enke for being the #2 behind Mad Jens and going to the Euro.
I'm glad our terrible defense didn't cost him the Euro.
He also said "See you in august!" after yesterdays game.
96 finished 8th which is kinda said because if they had won over Wolfsburg we could have made the UEFA cup but still it's 96's best end of the season table position since the promotion:
2002/03---11th---43 points
2003/04---14th---37 points
2004/05---10th---45 points
2005/06---12th---48 points
2006/07---11th---44 points
2007/08---08th---49 points
Also the first season with more wins than losses and most points.
Yes, it seems to be going up very slow and it might never go up higher than this with 50+, still it's a good time to be a 96 fan.
Thank you 96 for a very interesting season let's hope for even more improvement in 08/09.
Bastian Schulz lets Fabian Montabell feel how grateful he is that he scored:

96 had an average attendance of 40.086 this season. Not bad for a boring wallflower.
