There is none as bad as Titus Shambles.

Though, Jean-Alain Boumsong comes pretty friggin' close.

Man, I can remember when Boumsong was one of the top-rated YOUNG defenders in Europe.

Look at his case and this is why I always laugh my head off when people point to a player's age as a positive factor.

I think, for Hannover, Haggui is a good transfer.

I don't, but then again, I guess you really can't get much worse than Hannover was last season, which is what you guys said.

On another note, I guess Hannover is becoming the preferred place for Leverkusen rejects.

"Kicker" reports that discarded Bayer left back Constant Djakpa is being loaned to Hannover for two seasons.

Bayer has the option of recalling him after the first season.

Djakpa was such a disappointment last season, Bayer made a quick move for Michal Kadlec just before the transfer window closed.

I'm assuming Djakapa is Tarnat's replacement?? :o

For a loan, Djakpa can do work for them. If not, then very little risk. Good move IMHO.

Can't hurt.

Can't hurt.

If they play him and he stinks a lot it certainly can! (unless Hannover doesn't pay his wages, which I doubt a lot) Doubt it will happen though, he does seem to have a lot of talent.

Well, he does stink. But after the reaction I got for giving my Haggui opinion, I didn't want to start anything again.

He's going to share time with Rausch. You obviously can't go into a season with just one LB.

Let's just hope Rausch will improve a lot after having one full Bundesliga season under his belt.

The contract is stupid of course. If he surprises everyone and plays a decent season he's gone (just like Barnetta), if he doesn't we're stuck with him.

I don't belie Bayer will want to take him back though because they might take Opcizka back after this season.

Now we just need another RB (There are rumours about Coimbra's Predinho and Hertha's Sofian Chahed which would be really funny since our Sofien Chahed just signed his first professional contract) and an attacking mid.

I'm so dessperate right now that I'm acutally thinking about Adu. :D

And seeing that he was just told he needs to play more, I'm sure he would be thinking about you guys too if you were to call........ ;)

But then again, since you guys now seem to be the new home for Leverkusen rejects, wouldn't Donovan fit the bill better? LOL!! :D

Dolo was called up for the Gold Cup (http://www.ussoccer.com/articles/viewArticle.jsp_14942228.html) in July. Good way for him to get a head start on getting into game shape, although it means he might be with the US for most of July.

"Bild" is speculating in this story (http://www.bild.de/BILD/sport/fussball/bundesliga/vereine/hannover/2009/06/29/gerald-asamoah/holt-schmadtke-ihn-zurueck.html) that Hannover 96 Sport Director (General Manager) Jörg Schmadtke could be in the process of bringing Gerald Asamoah back to Hannover.

In the story, when asked if he's trying to sign Asamoah, Schmadtke says, "I cannot comment on names, but that is definitely not a 'no'".

What would you guys think of that move??

I think I speak for 96% of 96 fans when I say:

"Gerald, we'll always love you but we don't want nor need you playing for us right now!"

He would not be free either and the money would be so much better spent on a midfielder or defender.

Thanks!!

I have another question.

Would that opinion change if he came free or cheaply??

Mine wouldn't.

Imo we don't need any help up front at all.

And he wouldn't come cheaply. We really could use his salary elsewhere.

Actually, in your guys' situation, he couldn't come anything but cheaply.......

How do you mean that?

It means that in your economic situation any transfer that involves a more than 6 figures is going to be expensive for you.

It means that in your economic situation any transfer that involves a more than 6 figures is going to be expensive for you.

Something like that. What I meant was that both Schalke and Asamoah know there is only so much Hannover can afford in fees and salary.

Will Magath try to get as much as he can for Asamoah? Sure.

However, Magath also knows there is not going to be a line of clubs out there willing to throw money at him for a Gerald Asamoah who I think rightfully is perceived to be on the downside of his career.

Also, if Joerg Schmadtke is anything, it is frugal. He will not look to spend a lot of money on transfer fees or salary to bring Asamoah back to Hannover.

I think Schmadtke will do it if he can get terms good for Hannover 96. I believe both Schalke and Asamoah know this.

I also think if Schalke wasn't at least entertaining the thought of working with Schmadtke to possibly make this happen, it wouldn't be an issue at all.

I believe Schmadtke saying "that's not a no" said a lot.

I took it to mean, "Yes, we're talking, but no, we're not close on anything yet."

I was actually trying to reassure F96 that I don't believe Schmadtke will do anything stupid in this thing. I feel he won't do anything unless he can get his terms.
