Unlike Real Milan is not in pre-season form so it could get ugly but at least I'll be able to tell my kids in the future that I saw Kaka, Ronaldinho, Maldini and Beckham play.
sorry, my earlier post was directed at this post :p
do you really want to tell them you saw beckham trying to play football ;)
Looks like Pekarik is joining Wolfsburg. :(

Well, that's life as a 96 fan.
So, just returned from the match against Milan.
I don't regret that I spent the money and the game was fairly entertaining but the atmosphere was still weird - "Oh thank you great Milan for blessing us with your presence". There weren't that many Beckham groupies, I was more annoyed with the Fifa 08 crowd, little kids who apparently only came to scream every time Ronaldinho or Kaka came near them.
Kaka even received a standing ovation when he took a corner, very bizarre. Not only from the littles kids though, I think people were applauding him for being loyal, at least that's how I understood it.
He was also the most impressive player by far.
Milan obviously didn't give a **** in the first half but thankfully showed a little bit in the 2nd.
I think this game should help 96 to gain a little bit of confidence, they showed some very nice attacking moves and even Eggimann/Fahrenhorst looked somewhat capable.
Rosenthal is still the most frustrating players to watch, he's so dynamic but he can't hold on to the ball.
It's so good to have Enke back, he's just a great goaltender, the best who ever played for 96.

He IS hot. (as long as he keeps quiet lol) :)
Seriously, it's a shame I had to work today, otherwise I would have camped for hours with the other 700 people in front of the Marriott hotel today to get a glimpse of Kaka, Beckham & Co and scream hysterically. Sadly, it was not to be.

I watched on NDR and totally agree with you.
Hey, had I been there, I would have been applauding Kaka for putting heart above money too. :D

Like Keith, had I been there I would've applauded him too - I mean the way I understood the rumours he basically turned down the highest salary in football history to stay with the club he loves.
I always liked Kaka - but I like him even more now.

Yes, that is exactly what he did. It was going to be a world-record transfer fee and City was going to make him the highest-paid footballer in history.
According to Local papers we bought Andreasen from Fulham for 2.400.000€.
Another defensive midfielder, yeah. Maybe we will somehow manage to start a game with C. Schulz, B. Schulz, Lala, Balitsch and Andreasen in midfield.
This pretty much means that C. Schulz will have to play CB. I'm not sad about that since he's been pretty terrible in midfield most of the time but he might complain soon since he doesn't like playing defense.

F96, are you sure they won't have Andreasen play center back? He can.
But your comment makes more sense. You know, with moving Schulz back there.
Obviously the transfer didn't happen yet. Andreasen and 96 have agreed but Fulham has not so it could still fall through.
I still really want Änis Ben Hatira but that won'T happen.

So, Andreasen is in Hanover (not playing currently) and we are 1-0 in front against Schalke and got a penalty disallowed! Wow!

Anything we can do to help
us not getting relegated, don't like Werder :-P
Na, if we can collect a few points this season looks quite promising for the Northern teams, Hamburg in Europe for sure, Wolfsburg and Bremen possibly, none relegated...

I really can't see Hannover getting relegated, won't happen. :)
Woohoo, that was so important.
I was in the stadium and they still won!! :)
The 2nd half was not easy to watch though, I have to admit I didn't think that they would be able to hold the lead but thankfully Schalke was unable to score and Enke was brilliant once again in front of Köpke.
Looks like Huszti might be off to Hamburg. We surely could use the money but we'd also need a new midfielder since we're already short on them.

I've never seen a 5 on 3 counterattack botched so completely, and then the ball inevitably falls to the feet of Pinto who powers in a shot so unbelievable that it makes me question the world we live in.
Yea I'm drunk.

Since I'm a 96 fan Ive seen sucks horribly botched counterattacks more than I can count for Pinto scoring that goal was certainly mindblowing.
He's pretty much my most hated player but if he continues to score goals like this that might change.
Wow, that sentence is terrible. I was drunk. :D
Huszti is gone to Zenit St. Petersburg. Let's hope they gave us a fair amount of money.
I'm going to miss him but at least 96 made a good profit. I think they bought him for about 250.000€ and he also didn't really earn a lot.
Our midfield is going to suck now unless we pull either Stajner or Schlaudraff back. Rosenthal was horrible once again yesterday.
Maybe we'll get Streit now with the Huszti money. I don't like him but we have enough "nice guys" so I don't think he'll be a huge negative influence.
