He doesn't need to because he has clearly been the best player this season and last.

you guyz will agree with me if you watched the barca-mu game...
it once again proves CR's quality against top opposition...he couldn't do anything against zambrotta and scholes' magic goal is gonna save his face and will now surely end with the WPOTY award...and don''t get me wrong, he completely deserves this award THIS YEAR...but its only coz there has been noone better and messi's constant injuries haven't helped either....but still, messi still is the best...today's game further proves it...

C. Ronaldo was a disappointment in my opinion. I expected him to have a pretty amazing game considering it was at Old Trafford. He's going to Moscow nevertheless.

He did a lot of the little things. He was only pointing's by his own standards, but in terms of how he played i think he played well, nothing to remember, but nothing terrible.

He still underperformed compared to how many of you (Man Utd. fans) thought he would rip us apart.

Irrelevant.

He still underperformed compared to how many of you (Man Utd. fans) thought he would rip us apart.

Everyone expected us to go out and attack you but we chose to play a defensive game and won regardless. I'm not surprised that Ronaldo did not stand out when you take that into consideration. He played a team game in both legs. Still I'm not surprised to find people refusing to acknowledge him. When he was a 'kid' people whined about him having no end product and being a selfish player. Now they complain despite his outstanding end product (that has blown his rivals away) and have the gall to continue complaining when he plays a team game... Unbelievable. Ronaldo can never win.

Eh? The Zidane era (read couple of years) was over half a decade ago. Ronaldo's era began last season.

The Zidane World Cup era ended when he got sent off in the final and France lost. There will be no C. Ronaldo World Cup era. This new 'club era' will be contested between Messi and Ronaldo.
