David James (Portsmouth), Bacary Sagna (Arsenal), Rio Ferdinand (Man Utd), Nemanja Vidic (Man Utd), Gael Clichy (Arsenal), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal), Cristiano Ronaldo (Man Utd), Ashley Young (Aston Villa), Emmanuel Adebayor (Arsenal), Fernando Torres (Liverpool).

I would replace Cesc with Hleb and Ashley Young with Joe Cole (eventhough Young is a great player, cole has been incredible this season)

I would replace David James with Van der Sar. Rio with maybe Carvlaho but theyre both about the same. Gerrard with Flamini or Ballack maybe.

I'd also replace Adebayor with Santa Cruz and Young with Joe Cole.

I have bolded the questionable inclusions. I don't think James has been good enough to merit a place over other options. He's had a few games of superb form then made his usual stupid errors. No idea why he has received so much praise this season let alone a nomination for the main award. Clichy has been good but only that. We all knew back in August that Gerrard would receive his annual nomination for the main award and his place in the team. Has he really merited it? Of course not. A few patches of good form but not enough overall. Fabregas had one good month at the start of the season and then retreated into his shell for the rest of the season. I don't think a player merits either the Young Player of the Year award or a place in the Team of the Year on the basis of one month of form and then a season of doing little bar being the nominated set piece taker for his team.

Young clearly merits his place in the side despite what others might claim.

Possible replacements for James: VDS or Reina
Clichy: Evra
Fabregas: Flamini or Mascherano

How Clichy and Fabregas made it in the team is a joke...Clichy's standard defending is losing his man who has run past him, then catching up to him and hacking him down with a clumsy/reckless tackle. Evra has been clearly better than him. I think everyone would agree that Fabregas has been on his hands and knees under the judges table, even if the team was done at christmas he wouldnt deserve it.

Also...how did Torres not win YPOTY if they werent going to give it to C.Ronaldo?

Ronaldo should have won both because it is ludicrous to be nominated for both but win the Player of the Year award and lose the Young Player of the Year award. If you want to discount Ronaldo from the latter then I would have probably given it to Young because it would have likewise been ludicrous for Ronaldo to lose the latter to an older player. Feel free to disagree and it might just been down to our respective clubs but I really like what I have seen from Young this season. Hell I'd have him in our starting XI. Torres has done very well in his first season as well (being in Rio's pocket aside ;)) but I just feel that Young has done better. The way I see it is Young has played to the best of his current ability but Torres has not. Understand?

For once I agree with Teso.
The people who hand out these awards are morons, tbh.

Those "morons" happen to be the players themselves. PFA (Professional Footballers' Association).

Evra has been clearly better than him
Apparently it wasn't all that clear seeing as how his follow footballers did not vote him into the team. :p Clichy deserves his spot. He has been one of Arsenal's most consistent players this season and his hard work is appreciated by the other players.

Then the players are morons. And now I know why Ronaldo didn't win young player of the year. ;)
