Such discussion should never take place.
It's a no brainer really, Joe Cole.

Even as an Arsenal supporter, right now, I can't say that Walcott is better than Cole. However, Cole is 26 years old (just entering his prime) and Walcott is only 18. Also, Cole is definitely a midfielder, where as Walcott is best as a striker.
So instead rushing into a comparison of two different players at different stages of their careers, why don't we give Walcott some time. I mean, come on, give him till he's at least 20 or 21 before you start comparing him to 26 and 27 year olds in the prime of their careers. People get on his case way too much. Yes, he's been around in the public eye for what seems like a long time...but that's just because the English public and media love to heap lots of pressure on the next big thing (in this case a 16 year old boy bought by Arsenal) so they can tear it down later on.
This question would have more relevance if the public and media had an ounce of patience and could wait until he was at least 22 years old to start these comparisons.

i would rather have theo walcott in my team as would probably everyone else.
joe cole has never really shone imo. theo is 7 years younger and has made a big difference in alot of games. theo is more talented, can go past players better, better passer.

I'd say Walcott. Joe Cole's done more things but, Walcott is better right now, and we'll even get better. He's brilliant on the ball. Of course, I'm partial to the gunners over blues. They just play much more attractive Footy and Walcott is a huge part of that.

Joe Cole easily. one of the better players in europe this season.
Walcott might be at some point in the future, but nowhere near that level yet.

Joe Cole because he has more experience. However, with time, I think Walcott could be jsut as good perhaps even better. But right now, Joe Cole fa sho.

How can anyone say Walcott is better? He has done ******** all and apart from a couple of good runs has disappointed, he's for the future yes, but we're talking about who is the best player RIGHT NOW. Joe Cole has been one of Chelseas best players this season, and has been a constant threat, yes maybe he is a bit of a pansy and sounds like a gay, and at times thinks he's Ronaldinho but even with that he's still a very good player.
Was the person who told you Walcott was better 7 years old?

Maybe in ten years I'll take Walcott though....

Joe Cole, people may disagree but i dont think Walcotts going to make it at the top level, i know he is young but i just dont see him doing it. Will make a career from playing for teams like west ham, portsmouth etc.

Walcott is a baby, Joe Cole has more than likely peaked.......and currently I'd argue that the 2 players are comparable. For those reasons I'd take Walcott. Could be the homerism too :/

So you think that Walcott is a better player than Joe Cole? That was the question after all.
