I'm going to be in Buenos Aires next month and I want to buy soccer stuff. Particularly, I'm interested in:
(1) pins/badges
(2) scarves
(3) cards, etc.
(4) jerseys
Where's the best place to look for this stuff? I mean, other than the stadiums. Is there a market where I can find older badges? What's the best store for jerseys?
Thanks for everybody's help.

someone from BA can probably give you better advice, but there were tons of shops right across from La Bombonera that had everything. the prices are a bit more than the mall but you still win with the exchange rate. there is also a chain called "solo deportes"? that have a lot of shirts and a few different locations. you will find football stuff everywhere

I found that official sporting goods stores along Florida are the best bet so you dont get fakes, stay away from little holes in the wall if you want quality, also check out some antique markets in San Telmo if you want some neat older stuff and be prepare to barter.

I would also suggest that you get a local Argentine to buy for you. The haggling and the price will also be WAY BETTER.

'Solo Deportes' all the way. They have about 10 locations throughout BA. Belgrano, Palermo, Calle Florida, etc.. They have almost everything when it comes to official Jerseys, shorts, socks, Training gear, Track Suits...etc. of all teams. Go to www.solodeportes.com.ar
Make sure you put the .ar after the com.
As far as badges and knickknacks like that, I would do Calle Florida, or La Boca.

I second the reccomendation of Solo Deportes.
What may be a bit hard to get is scarves, they aren't a common thing of argentine clubs, if any they are somewhat rare.
Overall it may also depend on which team you are looking for.

I usually buy my official Boca stuff at the galerias or boutiques in Avenida Rivadavia. (In Caballito or Flores for example). They are smaller stores and often you deal with the owner directly. The list price is the same as you'll get in calle Florida, but you can haggle a bit more, especially if you're buying several things.
There's one such small store inside the Galeria Paris in avenida Acoite and Rivadavia, right above the Subway station 'Acoite' from the subway line 'A'. (And no, they're not my relatives. :D )
There are many such small stores. But you have to know where to go, or you may get a fake product. Usually I can tell if the place is legit and if the merchandise is real. But, if you're not totally familiar with the merchandise and you want to be sure you get the real deal, it might not be worth the savings to go into the smaller places.

I grew up near there. I used to go play to el Parque Rivadavia as a kid.
It's a nice area to shop in general. I take the yankees when they go, if they want to get away from downtown and find some bargains, but still fairly upscale.

Awesome! So they must live accross from the big hospital over there. My grandma used to live one block from there, in Avellaneda and Acoite. It's a nice neighborhood. As a child I used to live about five blocks from there in the corner of Ave. Honorio Pueyrredon and Canalejas.

You got me on the hospital but I do love the area. Something about it is very very warm.

Yeah, its a warm area. Nice streets, nice stores, lots of trees, lots of pubs, restaurants and coffee shops. The only problem is the traffic. Too many cars.

I like the cobble stone streets.
