I got an email from Jefferson Roblee today, head coach of the Brass. Like last year, he's inviting the Cauldron out for the Brass home opener May 11th against the Des Moines Menace. Like last year, this game is also a US Open Cup qualifier. He's also willing to make the same deal with the group as he did last year, all members of the Cauldron get in free if wearing Wizards gear.

Kick off is at 5 pm at William Jewell. I'm going to try to go to the game but it depends if the little guy is here yet or not. Let's get a good group out for the game, last year we had 6 or 7 for the game, and had Gordo's drum too.

Last year was so much fun, this is going to be a really good time for anyone who can make it.

I'm going to plan on making it, but I will be moving that weekend so I wont know for sure until much closer.

I can't think of anything else I would be doing two Sundays from now. At least not anything I want to be doing. ;) Pencil me in.

Well I think I'll be there Sunday, and probably more games this season, apparently my brother will be playing for the Brass.

Well that's pretty cool, I wasn't anticipating actually knowing anyone's name on the pitch. Bonus.

In addition to that, there are five guys from UMKC slated to be playing for the Brass this season...

Let's get some people out there to support KC soccer. The US Open Cup is a great tradition, and is even more important to teams like the Brass than the Wizards.

I had a great time last year. Beautiful weather, we saw a great goal, and with no home MLS soccer for the next 3 weeks, this is perfect.

5pm Sunday, right? Anyone who wants to ride up with me can meet me in the River Market and park in the free lots outside my building. Jewell can be a little bit of a pain to get to.

yep, 5 pm Sunday. Remember to wear your Wizards blue to get in. What excuse do you have not to come? The Wizards don't play this weekend so it gives you another local team to watch.

Uhhh...after I said all that. I forgot Sunday is Mother's Day. I'm still going to try to be there, but will probably only make it if family plans wrap up in time.

1-0 win for Des Moines. I'll see about posting some pics if I got some good ones.

Any chance we have at qualifying for USOC was saved by that win.

Missed the Des Moines goal, but have to say that it was a well-earned result. Brass didn't look quite as in sync as the Menace did throughout..

Good to see that #4 was able to continue... I thought for sure the way he was holding it that it was dislocated. It would have really sucked to go out on a clean tackle like that..
