so you guys scraped the idea of a 10-12 team league

I think this is where we stand right now (though I dont think a draft order has been established yet)

the top 4 teams from each division face the top4teams from the second division sort of like a playoffs

or would that contradict the whole point of team a from div1 vs teambfrom division 2 and lets say they both have ruud,kewell,hypia,
you know what i mean

By my experience with snake drafts, it won't help you much.

But then, the order isn't drawn yet...

Just pick anyone so that you can register the team. There are unlimited transfers with no penalities until August 14, so that you can change your whole "dummy team" if need be with the players you select in the draft.

So we are one short... anyone have any ideas?

I don't really see a problem with that. I mean, what are the chances anybody is going to have more than about 4 of the same players from both divisions combined?

We could probably conduct two drafts and still put everyone in the same very small rocks division and the teams would be different enough.

I'm actually intrigued by this idea... 2 drafts, 16 teams in 1 division... Really the only complication would be with pickups/transfers because you wouldn't know which league they were for 3/4th of the time... So we'd have to title each post SR1 Owens IN - Henry OUT etc etc... SR2 etc etc...

well...since nobody can have two of the same player on their squad it wouldn't really matter that much

it would just be like playing with two decks instead of one

but we'd still need one more person to make 16...or an even number of some kind.

I think ideally we need to secure the 16th person tonight, or tomorrow morning, in order to enable that all the logistics are taken care of. Since I am new to Bigsoccer I'm not sure where the best place to go to find a serious manager would be. But I think we should explore the possibility of posting a "manager wanted" sometime soon... we are so close to making the best fantasy league on the internet a reality!

Its a done deal... I posted a "fantasy manager needed" thread on the same sub-grouping as this one. I asked the prospective manager to PM me or let us know by posting a message on this thread. If Clanblue comes through, then we dont need one, but in case he doesnt this will be the final piece of the puzzle. I clearly stated we wanted an active manager so lets hope for the best.

This is close to what we did last year and plan to do again. That is, last year, we had Cup competitions pitting teams from the respective divisions against each other, and Mark has said he'll be runnning that again.

No reason we couldn't add a "Playoff" type cup to run over the last few weeks of the season. I like that idea.

Still, we'll want to keep the 2 divisions separate otherwise. Trades and free agents would get too confusing if all were combined. Each EPL player can only exist on one team per division, obviously.

Looks like we are all set! Here's the list for the two divisions. I guess all that is left is to determine draft orders and make sure all those who wont be at the draft send their lists to designated proxy before 8am central time US on Friday morning. Mark and Hal I assume will post all rules for the draft before Friday.

United Forever: the draft starts at 8am central time U.S. on Friday, and will keep going depending on how fast the draft is conducted. When making picks for your list, make sure that you take into account the allocated budget of 100 on the premier league website. A player list with all the names and values of the players is available at http://fantasy.premierleague.com/playerlist.html.
