Ah, yes, League of Wales football's often not much to write home about, but the background shenanigans can be very entertaining!
After winning the League of Wales seven times in eight years, Barry are now £1 million in debt and in Administration. Barry locked out their manager and team on 25th August (who hadn't been paid since June) and appointed a part-time team from players who'd been five levels lower down the pyramid last season. I foresee another Abergavenny Thursdays situation - in the LoW in 1992/3, then relegated 5 times in 6 years, conceding 675 goals. As of 30th September, Barry have 1 point from 6 games and a goal difference of -16. (TNS lead the table with 21 points from 7 games).
Then again, there was the little matter of the merger of TNS and Oswestry Town, with the combined team being called TNS and building a new stadium across the border in Oswestry for the 2005/6 season: it took a bit of persuading before UEFA agreed to let that happen...
