I know, but i think it was done to sell him for a good price
(12-15 million EUR), because a player like him doesn´t fit
into a second league.

but why would he sign the contract if he had no intention of staying there?

because he's confident enought to know that there are plenty of clubs willing to pay 12 million for him !?

that doesn't make any sense.

why make it more difficult for himself?

I'm guessing Zaragoza paid him a nice direct sum for signing the new contract. That way Zaragoza and Oliveira both win. So in a way it makes sense granted that he could choose among many clubs even though they'd have to pay for him.

i think the more logical explanation is that he'll be playing second division with zaragoza next season.

he's nowhere near good enough for someone to pay 15 mil euro for him, which is what zaragoza would need to make money if they gave him a couple of milion to sign as well.

his best season is 3 years away and no one is going to bid that much money if they know that zaragoza are actively shopping him.

Appearently Atletico Madrid, Villareal and Werder Bremen think differently. Also Oliveira has stated that he doesn't want to play segunda division.

just had a look at an article about this, zaragoza had on option signing him when they loaned him out. he basically agreed to a possibility of zaragoza signing him permanently when he agreed to go on a loan with them.

that makes sense now.

Striker Patrick Derdank of SC Neusiedl signs with Bremen

Another Austrian talent (for the reserve). :)

The 19 years old striker Derdak was in January at a trial
(with the reserve in Spain at a trainings camp
and comes now as a free transfer.

I think Fred would be better than oliveira. But why not try to get Ben Arfa from Lyon? A huge talent, only 21 and maybe we could get him for 12-13 mio.

Aulas wants 15 million for Fred I'd guess he'd want probably 25 million for Ben Arfa. It's simply imposible.

Latest name on the bazar is Andre Santos of Corinthians who is a 25 year old left back and would cost around 5 million.

Has anybody heard anything about Bremen going after David Odonkor? I saw it mentioned in a french article, but I'm not sure if I understood it correctly.

You mean this one: French article (http://www.footmercato.net/lyon-va-t-il-plier-face-a-l_article21658.html)

Would be a great signing for the Werder athletics team ... :)

... but not for the Werder football team.

Owomoyela deal with Dortmund is perfect.

He signed a contract until 2010 and earns 1 million €/year.
Dortmund pays us 2.5 m €.

yes Lyon's price for Ben Arfa is near Nasri, about 15 million pounds (which is about 19 million euro). remember, they were talking about a swap deal involving the 2 players. anyway where would he play? don't you guys play 4-4-2 diamond (sorry, I didn't follow Bundesliga too closely this season)? right now he can only play wing forward in a 4-3-3 or similar formation.

also I noticed someone mentioning James McFadden, he is a very skillful player but that's it. scores about 1 amazing goal each season and nothing else. his goalscoring record is worse than Nelson Valdez

(OK that's exaggerating a bit :p)
