Do you have any more interesting switch-ideas where you get top class players and we take the crap that rots on your bench?

How about Beletti for Mertesacker or Mancienne for Frings. Keep me entertained please.

Moreno doesn't really want to go to Shakhtar but the Spaniards who own him want him to. I guess it's time JB and KA make an offer for him (if they haven't already).

Everton, Manchester City and Roma have entered the bitting-war for Marcelo Moreno. During the last two weeks the name "Werder Bremen" wasn't even mentioned anymore in this context (mostly the british press likes to ignore us).

But now Werder has sent Milonja Djukic to Brazil, the man who sealed the deals with Diego and Carlos Alberto in the recent past. Sending him means we are serious about Moreno. He will decide today or tomorrow which club he joins. I guess our chances are about 50%.

A local newspaper (normally very reliable) reports he joins 1.FC Köln.

Turns out Moreno was basically #1 choice forward. Werders last offer was 8.5 Million and 2.5 million salary. Bild already reported that he joins Werder on these conditions. Werders offer outbid Tottenham who were also very keen on signing him but in the last minute Donetsk raised their offer to 9 million, 3 million salary and a 2 million earnest for Moreno which must have convinced him even though he doesn't like the idea of playing in the ukrainian league.

Now there don't seem to be many options left:

- Nilmar certainly isn't one because he's so injury-prone.
- Nobody knows how serious the management is about Milan Baros. The guy really hasn't performed well except for one good EURO. And in general Werder doesn't sign guys like him who are so well known.
-There were some rumours about James McFadden but what the hell would Werder want with him?
- Kalinic seems to be a realistic candidate but to be honest i've never seen him play.

I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Pizarro back at Werder. He has the experience and in my opinion he is a very good striker.

As for Kalinic, I too have never seen him play but I hear good things about him.

(TheAtlasLions.com) It is NOT only Olympique Marseille that are keen on Morocco international Soufiane Alloudi but others more reported French media on Wednesday.

According to same source OM official, Jose Anigo, will assist the match between Morocco and Ethiopia this Saturday to supervise Alloudi.

Further according to La Provence other clubs are tracking Alloudi like PSG, Lille, Lyon, Saint-Etienne, Werder Bremen and Fulham.

No it's just fan-rumours. there aren't any reliable sources. Like I said: Werder doesn't sign well know players.

Seriously: Why wouldn't he go to Marseille? It's his language. There are 2 other moroccan players. He's gonna play Champions League. He get's the same amount of money. = He won't go to Werder (and he's not needed here)

It's the same what i think. Espacially when Lyon is behind him. If he don't go to Lyon he will go to Marseille.

"We are considering the possible signings of players like John Carew or Milan Baros," Allofs told SportBild.

Key word, I think. Maybe it's an indication that the club wants a striker with experience because I can't really imagine Carew or Baros in Bremen. I, personally, would love to see Nikola Kalinic join the team, but it won't be the case if they're looking for someone experienced.

According to sid (german sport information service) Werder
is after Ricardo Oliveira (28, striker) from Real Zaragossa.

Zaragoza signed Oliveira on a permanent deal 2 days ago! (for 10mil)

There is no chance they will let him go. If they will, it would be for more than 10 mil and I doubt Bremen will spend that much on him.

I think Bremen are stalling on the striker issue because they want to wait and see what will happen to Podolski. He has hinted that he wants to leave Bayern and should make his decision after the Euros.

I know, but i think it was done to sell him for a good price
(12-15 million EUR), because a player like him doesn´t fit
into a second league.

When I said Alloudi is not needed I meant to say that Werder is looking for a guy who can possibly score 18+ goals in the league. Moreno could have been that guy. Oliveira would be an incredible signing though I'm worried about him getting injured.

I think what Allofs meant when he said (if he ever said it) that Werder wants Carew or Baros he meant that Werder is willing to spend the amount of money that would be needed for those kinds of players. I don't think Werder is at the moment interested in those too due to their (lack of) quality.

On the other hand if Werder pays 12 million for Oliveira they could have gotten Moreno in the first place - who is 8 years younger.
