No doubt Brad MOTM.
Yeah!! Brad got MOTM, he was stupendous, as was Roque and Warnock, Samba made up for his horror show against the Pool last week.
Ewood was fair buzzing! Fantastic atmosphere and we played well.
Good tactic by Hughes to play Emerton in the centre of midfield, only negative was Reid again, but I enjoyed every minute of that match.
Shame about the marking for their goal, but hey! I would have taken a point before the game.
Some people said the ball didn't go out for a corner for their goal it was a goal kick, I was way up the other end, so it wasn't clear. I want to see the penalty claims when I watch it on TV later. Why was Rooney not sent off? A Rovers player would have been sent off for that vicious tackle!
Great game, great atmosphere, good day all round.

The only penalty claim with any legitimacy was Emerton's handball, but I really don't think he had any time to move his arm out of the way. I'm sure I'd be pissed if I was a ScumU supporter, but I think Rob Styles made some very good decisions all throughout the match.
However, Rooney should have been sent off. If not a straight red for the foul on Samba, then he should have already been on a yellow for the obvious dive on his "penalty" shout.

I disagree.
I think Rooney's booking was just, and a red card would have been harsh. Also, I think Rooney had a good shout for a penalty. By the laws of the game, the defender took the man, in the box, without touching the ball. The only thing that cast doubt in Rob Styles' mind was the fact that Rooney fell late. On the whole, the ref saved us, but not as much as Big Brad. I am in love with the man. He has to be the greatest American of all time!
Shame no one could give Ronaldo a good enough kicking, but there's always next season, and the Euros. I'll be supporting whoever plays Germany, Portugal, Italy, Spain, France and Holland. I have no bad feelings for Croatia. They beat us fair and square.

i got a good view of the rooney tackle in the blackburn end and i was expecting the ref to give it. It was a surprise he didnt. This was a very good game and we played well. The only thing i would say is that we sat back a lot in the second half and every time united went on the attack they nearly scored but i thought we were just about to hold out untill 2 minutes to go bastards. As for brad he was just having one of those games were he wasnt going to be beaten untill that.

On TV you can see that there is no reason why Rooney couldn't stay on his feet. In fact he does, right up until the point that he realises the ball has got away from him and promptly belly flops his way to the ground. I've seen penalties given for less, and yes Reid did catch him, but that doesn't negate that he did dive after the fact, in the hopes of conning the ref. I haven't had much opportunity to praise refs just lately, but Rob Styles was spot on with his decision on not giving this one, and pretty much everything else this game too.
As I said, I still feel that he should have sent Rooney off for the foul on Samba, particularly as it appeared to be in retaliation for not being given the penalty, but I understand why he only gave a yellow. All round, a very good game for the refs.

i sit right behind the goal in the blackburn end. That would give me a better view than you on tv and it should have been a penalty. I will tell it like it is if i think we should have had a penalty or they should but it makes a change that we get away with it for once. That is the only thing rob styles got right. Wes brown should have been booked, there were six tacles were one should have resulted in yellow. Soon as a rovers player had done one tacle he was booked.

I agree with both of you on the Rooney penalty. I was amazed it wasn't given, he got his leg, and those get given all the time. I think it was the way he made himself go down when the ball got away from him that saved us. And that's the other point, yes there was contact but he could have easily stayed on his feet, so really it wasn't a foul. Put it this way, if Rooney would have been in front of goal and that tackle came in he'd have stayed on his feet and lashed it in the back of the net. But with the rules we have it could have gone either way. The thing is though, if it wasn't a penalty it was a booking for diving, or just pretend it didn't happen, Styles bottled it either way.
Roberts' early on should have equally been a penalty too. To be honest, all this whinging from the big 4 about refereeing decisions makes me laugh. They've got a point, but everyone else has been putting up with it against them for years. Remember when we got Cole from Utd and he said he didn't realise how much protection you get playing for Utd until he played for us.
I thought Rooney was going to get sent off, not for that tackle, but for 10 minutes after that you could tell he'd lost his head. Calmed down and stayed on though. Brown was the one I couldn't believe kept getting away with it though, he should have been on at least a yellow. He got away with it once then just kept kicking Pedersen in the air.
Anyway, not really a game to think about the negatives, good game, day and atmosphere. Decent result too although last minute equalisers always feel bad, no matter who it's against.
Agree that Brad (God), Warnock and Roque were all brilliant. Samba redeemed himself. Nelsen looked better after an early mistake too. Vogel impressed me again too, to say how little football he's had lately, could be a very good player for us.

The beauty of football is that on a given day, anyone can beat anyone else. All teams try their best against the champions. If it takes having to play a big team for our players to get out there and perform, that tells me we need to release the deadwood and try and make some important and effective signings in the summer. It would be nice if we could bring in a biggish name, as opposed to someone who played for a UEFA Cup team in another league, somewhere - they can be too risky, and I still maintain that Emerton is crap.

Must admit, I was thinking why couldn't you tossers have put in even half this effort against Fulham, Spurs and Reading. It's the stupid points we drop like those that really cost us.

Some players save themselves for the big teams, because that's the ideal shop-window opportunity for them to impress a potential boss, and potential team-mates.

Rumor has it that Manchester United has shown interest in Santa Cruz and Blackburn could be selling him for 15 million.

From a financial perspective, that's a good deal, and a fine profit for the club. But with some of the names we've brought in over the past few years, I can only hope Hughes spends the cash wisely, otherwise we'll have given up our best player for a couple of avergage ones.
I wouldn't like to see Rocky go. Haven't McCarthy and Bentley signed new deals? I think we're going to do alright next season, if we bring in a couple of defenders and a couple of midfielders. Playing half our team out of position this season has not helped our teamwork, and we haven't even been unlucky with injuries for most of the season, like West Ham, or The Bum, with Eduardo.

not a chance of him going to united, not £15 mill. i would want at least £25 mill before considering. thats how much torres cost when he went to liverpool and in any case hughes has a nack of keeping onto players.

Don't compare the two. Torres is younger and better. If Ferguson were to spend that amount of money on a striker, he'd be more inclined to buy a young superstar, as opposed to one that'll be thirty in three-and-a-half years.
