Why is it that all these retards hold their flags upside down or backwards? And that's not a dig at Italy. I swear, every crowd shot I've ever seen in any match has I'd say about 1/3 of the people holding scarves/flags, doing it the wrong way. They look like idiots.

Well you won't understand because you think too logically about it.

For example: since they are Italian they cannot be wrong about the Italian flag, any Italian holding the flag in any way is the correct way. Now since you are not Italian, you are incorrect about them holding the flag the wrong way because its not the way you hold the flag its the way you wear the flag that counts.

How do I know you are not Italian? because you criticized a bella donna for holding the flag whilst fully ignoring the way she held the flag and how her holding it emphasized the "correct" flag over her ample Italian heart...:)

No, they're too busy staring at her ass.

Germany in the Euro's!!

will have another team to watch if Newcastle signs some quality players that are in the Euro's (hopefully they will)

Does anyone know who televises the Euro games in the US? are they covered here?

ESPN/ABC have the rights and from what I've read every game will be broadcast.

Just read TF's preview of the tournament. (http://www.true-faith.co.uk/html/Features/euro2008_preview.htm) I especially like their prediction for Greece "Lightning doesn't strike twice". It is traditionally a period where we'll see a few players rise to international prominence and get signed by big clubs who then realise they're shit.

I must admit I've been ignoring it up until now, because well I'm English... should be good though a month of top class football without having to worry about my team because we're so shit we're out before the opening ceremony.

Sorry ToonUSA but Romania haven't got a chance of getting out of their group. I can see both co-hosts being out before the final group game too.

Like ******** they don't.

France are out already and all we have to do is overcome the Dutch who are less than impressive.

Domenech called up Boumsong instead of Mexes and Sagna. I mean, that says it all.

Should be a great tournament. Anyone interested in doing a bracket, maybe throwing down 5 dollars each? Could be fun.

I'll be pulling for the Dutch.

Spain might pull a shocker and actually live up to their potential.

I've got them in the final.

I think Spain have one of the most talented squads going into it. However, they do always under-perform. Any team that can't even find a place for the captain of the league winning team must have talent over-flowing though.

If C Ronaldo brings in his form from this season Portugal can't be dismissed either... the criticism is they don't have a proper striker but neither did Man Yoo.

In terms of surprising under-performance what go you guys think? I think Italy will fall out at the group stage too (along with Romania :D).

Italy will survive the group of death by the skin of their old men's dentures but not get much further than that. Two things are for certain when Italy plays: 1: they survive tight situations, barely and 2: they do so by gaming the system the whole way. Needless to say, Italy has lowered expectations considerably to the point that a early exit will not be considered an "under performance..."

Under performance? Czech Republic failing to take second spot in group A losing to Turkey. Portugal because all they really have is CRonaldo. Spain because they are, well Spain and its an international tournament. and if its true that Boumsong is starting before Mexes then La France n'est pas plus.

speaking oflowering expectations (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7431605.stm):

A group of Austrian football lovers is calling on their national team to withdraw from the European Championship finals in Austria and Switzerland next week. They say Austria is simply not good enough to take part.

Haha they've been doing that for months... saying how terrible they are and that they're going to embarass the nation. They never would have qualified if they weren't the hosts.

Cannavaro is out for the Italians too... Isn't he their captain?

I hope it's Croatia v. Romania, but I've got a feeling it's an all-Iberian final.

That would be an unreal final. I've got Germany vs. Spain.

Spain vs Germany sounds good to me.
