I agree CrewToon. We will do magnificent here to get three points. They should be more than up for it since it is the first home Premiership match for Wolves.

From the BBC:

Kennedy, Miller, Lescott and Ndah all still out due to injury for Wolves. Matt Holland out for the Addicks, but they add former Wolves player Carlton Cole, who comes from Chelsea on a season-long loan. Paolo di Canio also should make his debut for Charlton.

Wolves (From): Murray, Irwin, Naylor, Butler, Craddock, Ince, Luzhny, Newton, Cooper, Silas, Rae, Iversen, Blake, Sturridge, Camara, Cameron, Okoronkwo, Ingimarsson, Proudlock, Clingan, Oakes

Charlton (From): Kishishev, Powell, Stuart, Fish, Hreidarsson, Parker, Euell, Jensen, Bart-Williams, Rowett, Lisbie, Bartlett, Konchesky, Young, Svensson, Johansson, Campbell-Ryce, Turner, Fortune, Deane, DeBolla, Hughes, Leite, Holland, Royce, di Canio, Cole.

Referee: Phil Dowd (1st Premeirship match of the season)

Streaks: Wolves- Undefeated in 10 home league matches, undefeated in home openers since 1990
Charlton- 3 match road losing streak, however they have won their last 2 road openers.

Last Match: Wolves-0 at Charlton-2, 1st Division, Feb 12, 2000

Prediction: We need a point at least, 3 would be much better though. Charlton lost 3-0 home to Man City last week, and of course, Wolves got throttled 5-1 at Blackburn, so neither side played particularly well in their openers. Match might not be a sellout, due to Charlton returning some of their allocation, but the home crowd, and the joy of the first real match since the Cardiff triumph should carry Wolves in this one, 2-1.

Well, I see no one's updated this yet, and since I just checked the scores, it's a good thing

Wolves-0
Charlton-4
Halftime

For Charlton, the scorers are: Euell (4), Jensen (14), and Bartlett (24 and 32)

Iversen has picked up a yellow card, but that's it for Wolves thus far

Teams:
Wolves: Oakes-Butler, Craddock, Irwin, Naylor-Cameron, Ince, Newton-Blake, Iversen, Silas
Subs-Murray, Luzhny, Cooper, Rae, Sturridge

Charlton: Kelly-Fish, Fortune, Hreidarsson, Young-Bartlett, Holland, Jensen, Kishishev, Parker-Euell
Subs-Royce, Powell, Stuart, diCanio, Cole

Obvious question: Why Oakes over Murray? According to the Wolves site, Murray picked up a back injury while on duty with the England U-21s during the week, so Oakes makes his first start since September '02, and it obviously hasn't been a good one thus far.

3 halves of Premeirship football, and Wolves have been outscored 9-1. Transfer deadline day is a week from tomorrow, and if these performances are any indication, there is a LOT of work to be done...with a trip to Old Trafford coming up on Wednesday. I'm not listening to the match, just following it on Soccernet, but I'd bet the crowd at Molineux is not pleased. It's been an embarrassment thus far, and help better be on the way.

Well, the positive from this one, if you can draw one, is that it was a scoreless second half:

Final at Molineux:
Charlton-4 (Euell-4, Jensen-14, Bartlett-24, Bartlett-32)
Wolves-0

Wolves: Oakes, Butler, Craddock, Irwin, Naylor, Cameron (Rae 45), Ince, Newton, Blake, Iversen (Sturridge 60), Silas (Cooper 45)
Subs not used: Murray, Luzhny

Cards: Iversen (Yellow-23), Ince (Yellow-47)

Charlton: Kelly, Fish, Fortune, Hreidarsson, Young, Bartlett (Cole 74), Holland, Jensen (di Canio 76), Kishishev (Stuart 85), Parker, Euell
Subs not used: Royce, Powell

Cards: Parker (Yellow-63, Yellow/Red-70)

2 matches in the books for Wolves, 2 lopsided defeats, and a trip to Man. U on Wednesday night. It's not time to panic yet, but I'm definately starting to worry.

Four goals in the first 32 minutes. That's sad.

A disastrous start to the season.

A horrible match for Wolves! I listened to the match online. It seemes liked everything went wrong for us. I got so depressed after reading some of the match reports, afterwards, that I stayed in bed for nearly three hours. The only positives I can take at this point is that we will get Lescott, Kennedy, and Miller back and that we have 36 matches to go. Whomever said that Camara should be playing is spot on.

Silas is doing ***************. So is everyone else.

We've truly screwed this up bad and it is going to be extremely difficult getting it together.
