Okay, so I'm one of the newbie's here. And I just started playing again after more than 20, oh yeah baby, 20 LONG years! I have a large back yard and a sizeable brick wall on one side of the house. A clean shaven pitch, and a great outdoor stereo. And, (one more thing) a Hahahahahot neighbor next door that I have "caught" watching me, on most occasions.

Anyway, so what's so dangerous? Playing keep away with two full grown dogs. A 75lb Boxer and a 80lb. American Bull Dog. They HATE my soccer ball!!! The first day I tried it, it was an accident cuz I dropped the ball on the pitch as I was putting them back inside the house. I was just gonna kick it against the house, (neighbor side :-)
And they went crazy when it rolled. But today I wore my ankle brace for the first time to get use to it. Aw Hell !! They were pissed!! So I went ahead and put on my chin guards, just in case. If ya'll have dogs, give it a try. It was alot of fun. But I have to use the cheapest ball I have. LOL. They have already sunk their teeth into it.

I have 2 dogs but they don't mind me playing the back yard. One of my dogs is afraid of the ball so she runs away. They mostly just lay down in the shade, out of my way. I've never had a problem with them.

Maybe you could put them inside for a little bit while you practice.

Or go to a public field at a high school or something? Seeing that you live in Texas I don't think you would have a problem finding a public field. Texas is a hotbed for soccer players

It might be less dangerous if you wore turf shoes while practicing. I wear them for all but the softest ground the added cushion helps with feet and knees. I don;t think your other thread should have been closed.

it might be an idea if you kept them inside while practicing and then let them out when you've finnished and do you men shin guards not chin guards

Practicing in a barrio or hood infested with gangs might be one dangerous way:o

La Barrio is right! But Aw Man, I clicked on your Lets Jam Newcleus link, and Man that took me back to the days I "use to" break dance. LMAO! Jam On It was my killer song I would use to crumble the competition. LOL
