Looks like Piotr Swierczewski is about to sign w/ Lech Poznan! LOL, I can't wait to read all of his ridiculous comments in the papers after every game. Why screw up a promising young team by bringing someone like that in? I don't know.

Why not Wisla?

He's not good enough for Wisla. He's been sitting on the bench for both his French club and during his loan to England. He's not as good as he once was...

Lech land Swierczewski

Polish international midfield player Piotr Swierczewski has returned home to Lech Poznan on a one-year contract.

Left Marseille
Swierczewski terminated his contract with French side Olympique de Marseille earlier this month, due to a lack of first-team opportunities. He chose Lech ahead of KS Górnik Zabrze and returns to Poland after ten years abroad, during which time he played in France, Japan and England.

'Great potential'
The 31-year-old, who has appeared 79 times for Poland, said: "Lech have great potential, a lot of fans and are a well-known, respected club. The city of Poznan demands good football and I hope to help this club push for the title in the near future."

To say he played in England is a bit of an overstatement...unless you count the 13 minutes vs Chelsea. Wow, I even think the guy on Southampton who pretended to be George Weah's cousin a few years back got more time than that.

As you can tell, I'm not a big fan of our midfield general.
