Just need to build some confidence up, eg: running with ball, going for headers etc.

I'm 6' 4 and can never win a header!?

Any tips that would make me a better player?

Well let me see if i can help you out at all. Ive never really had this problem of not winning headers. I'm about 5 '8'' So ive always had to fight hard and want the header if i was to win it. And most of the time big guys like you dont give me a chance.

Now you being 6'4' there isnt a header that you should be missing. Heading the ball is all about time. Which im sure you already know. Anyways you said your problem was confidence here is what i would do if i was you.

First thing i would do is youtube some videos or pros winning headers (i wasnt sure if you were a defender or an attacker) but here is a vid of raul scoring with his head http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2ItSTe4U_w if you are a defender find something of the like. I want you to watch the video closely and imagine that you are the player in the game. Try to feel what he feels do exactly what he does. Then close your eyes and imagine that you are in the game, the more real you make it in your head the more real it will be for you. This is just a basic visualization technique. If you lack the confidence to win headers emulating someone who does have the confidence in your head should help you. This isnt a one time deal, you will have to practice this just like you would practice any other skill in soccer. Because this is a skill. i believe the old cliche is that Soccer is 90 percent mental so you should be spending time preparing your brain as well as your body.

If this works for you try doing some research on more visualization techniques they have helped me immensely in my game.

email me and i will send you a pdf article on visualization techniques
