Time to test my first year spanish.

No quieremos Ronaldinho jugar en el Premier League.
Ello cuesta muchos dolares y es no bueno para el dinero. :)

That probably makes no sense but you get the idea.

would love any top brazilian to come to the prem, especailly a former wpy. he is one of the few players that would bring a different dimension to the epl.

I don't think he would, he cant be arsed with football any more, he's just happy downing the pies getting his money and not playing. He wouldn't be allowed to do all his tricks in the Premiership so there really is no point having him, get a player with a load of pace and a great delivery instead.

An excellent player when he's fit, the best around some might say, the problem is that when he's not fit he's next to useless.

He needs to be in shape in order to make any positive contribution at all. The EPL is not a league where players can sit back and relax and rest of the laurels and unless he came with the right attitude he'd get found out in less than 30 seconds of his debut and get hassled off the park in no time.

I would think only the top 3 or 4 could get the best out of him because only they can offer him what he wants; a crack at the big time and the opportunity to play with players who equal his ability. At Tottenham, Newcastle, Portmouth, and City he'd be worshipped for doing nothing and that would send out the wrong signals to him.

In Italy he might do well. Attacking players are afforded more time on the ball so he could pick his pass and choose his moments more carefully. In England he'd have maybe 3 or 4 seconds before Kevin Davies came crashing into him at break-neck speed before leaving him in a heap on the floor and running off with the ball.

true. if he had come to the prem before going to barca he would have had the desire to get used to having to work at premieirship speed levels. it would have take a little while, but he would have mastered it by his second season and would have been imense. but now, i dont know if he would want to relearn the game.

either way, in answer to the question of the thread i would still love to see him in england, it would be the biggest and most prestigius foreign signing any british side has ever made. and if he flops, hey, i aint paying the guys wages, what would i lose?

Which is why I believe the English league is the best. Ronaldinhio could still succeed in Italy and Spain but wouldnt stand a chance in the premier league. You need to earn respect in England not live off former glory.

ronaldinho will be back to his world player of the year form, the second he leaves barca... and he can do it anywhere, the EPL included.... but if he does come to the PL its got to be a big club... none of this manchester city nonsense ive heard... once the season is over and the exodus is complete at chelsea, i could definitely see a midfield of ronny, ballack, essien, cole....

I dont think Man City is a silly destination, they were a bigger club than chelsea pre abramovitch and with the funds sven looks set to be given can become just as big as Chelsea.

Just think if Ronaldinhio went to Man City he wouldnt stand out that much because you would probably see 2 or 3 more big names join citeh as well.

You can see a Midfield like that at Chelsea even though Lampard is their best Midfielder? I hope you were just suggssting he is going to leave.

And that argument for why the Premiership is the best I don't agree with, alot of Premiership players would fail in a foreign league just like many of them would fail over here, I don't beleive Ronaldinho would perform over here purely because he is a show player, and we don't play football to perform a show, winning is everything, which is precisely why we're failing to produce enough talented kids.

I still don't understand the thread title.

He has excelled in Spain, for the most part, and is likely to succeed in Italy. However, there seems to be a general agreement that he would crash and burn in England.

I don't think that is neccasarily proof that the EPL is the best, but differet footballing cultures suit different players styles.

Disagree, the old Ronaldinhio would succeed in England, the lazy arse Ronaldinhio would flop. Style is an excuse of inferior players, if you are good enough you make it anywhere.

Winning is everyhting, we are failing to produce kids because our top teams are buying youth teams from abroad rather than produce their own talent.

Chelsea are playing in the Youth cup final tonight and not one of their youngsters have been produced by chelsea. Until their is a rule agaisnt purchasing youngsters from abroad our national team will continue to suffer. Fabregas is a class act but he should be at Barca not Arsenal.

I think if Ronaldinho got his arse in gear he could do well in England. Imagine Chelsea putting out the following midfield/attack:

Essien
Ballack.....Lampard
Joe Cole.................Ronaldinho
Drogba

He wouldn't do that well in the Prem due to the man-on-man defending. At his peak he would dominate but he's well past that now unfortunately.
Serie A he'd dominate because they would defend the space, not the man.
