Uh, that was the point man! LOL!!

Believe me, my worst visit to London was the one I made without football to check out. It was during the All-England Championships (Wimbledon).

That just didn't do it for me. :D

Sure, there's lots to do in Munich when it isn't football season, but a trip to the AA to see 1860 makes it all worthwhile.

So it is REALLY that good, ehh?

I have admittedly followed FCB a bit more than 1860 even though my family is split for the two sides. Perhaps a match in AA with 1860 will fix that for me?

Could I be ein Loewen and not even know it???

Some people are Bayern fans through birth, others jump on the bandwagon. For me, if given the choice, I always go underdog.

I can understand that. For me here, in the States, it is far easier to follow FCB, which makes it an appealing choice.

I have heard it is impossible to support both. I guess a choice will have to be made...

How many Met-Yankees or A's-Giants fans do you know? Few people actually follow both. Families split down the middle, usually with those over 40 being Sechzig followers and those under 40 being Bayern fans.

It feels more "pure......"

If you want more people, commercialism and pure arrogance, go to Bayern matches. It is better football with bigger names, but try getting a ticket......

If you want to feel like you're within a pure football atmosphere as much as you can in that beautiful, but plastic stadium, go with 1860.

It's easy to fall into supporting Bayern. No one can blame you for that. Bayern is the best-run club here. They make themselves easily accessible to you. It is also very easy to support a club who wins all the time.

Dortmund is my favorite club, but I wish they made things a bit more accessible. 1860 is comparable to them.

Whether taking in an 1860 match will "fix" that for you, I cannot say. But I think you will enjoy the price of seats to 1860 and fans actually supporting their club instead of bitching should they ever have the audacity to fall behind......

You can get a front row seat for 1860 for less than it costs to sit in the upper deck for Bayern. But again, just try getting a ticket for a Bayern match.

I've been to quite a few Bayern matches this season, but only UEFA Cup matches and because I acted when the tickets first went on sale. Next season when they are back in the Champions' League, those tickets will be impossible to get again.

You won't know it until you try it.

Right. In the examples you gave, most who claim to be fans of both don't really follow the sports much.

I'm one of the dwindling number of people who say they like both the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros.

I'm a baseball fanatic, but even more of a Texas fanatic. :D

Then you have people like this one dude on my list who isn't really a big BVB fan, but likes them because they bring glory to his home city.

And those are the few people I've met who say they like both 1860 and Bayern. People who aren't really into football, but are just for anything that brings good attention to Munich.

I can understand that. I may just have to give it a try.

I wonder how many 1860 fans from America visit the facility or go to the matches. Perhaps the club would look favorably on a visit from a South Carolinian...

I suspect with several American players, 1860 is used to some attention from visiting Americans. As I mentioned a while ago my nephew got to play some at the Grünwalder Str. facility with a visiting youth team. They met some players and got to spend their unearned cash in the gift shop.

I was only in Munich once and wearing an 1860 hat confused people I think. It seemed an inordinate amount of older people were asking me for directions or info when my German is pretty bad. I am hoping to get to a game this fall.

That is my goal as well. Specifically when is up in the air.

Your German cannot be as bad or basic as mine! LOL

Whereabouts are you from?

Do I understand this right? There are fotoball clubs out there that produce and sell CDs with songs and cheers and chants on them? Interesting!

Does anyone have one for 1860? I have no idea what their songs or cheers would even be...

Vielen danke!

Here is a link (http://www.tsv1860.de/de/aktuell/loewenradio/) to some other audio files on the 1860 site. The songs are at the bottom

I have a feeling there will be more than a few Bayern fans jumping off bridges if this result stays as is... 2-0 Zenit, a few minutes shy of half time... Ouch...

Wow.. You guys were right. Bayern fans are imploding right now, and it is only half time!

Bayern fans really do seem to lead dark lives. All or nothing, pain, misery, etc. Sakes. I have to admit, in the past, a Bayern loss has upset me. Even a draw left me cranky.

I am really beginning to think I am ready to turn to Die Löwen...
