I am really digging the proposed trikots posted earlier. If they turn out to be Sechzig's shirts, I may have to get my hands on one!

Bundesliga.de Story On 1860 Training - In German (http://www.bundesliga.de/de/liga2/news/2007/index.php?f=98555.php&fla=1)

Some points:

o All three new players, Benny Lauth, Mathieu Béda and Markus Krauss were at today's training session.

o Mate Ghvinianidze also participated. He said his goal is to come through the pre-season "very well."

o Markus Schroth did not participate. He was excused to continue his rehabilitation/preparation in Belgium. Kurz said they want Schroth to be where he can work to optimum level and in peace and he is sure Schroth will join the team at training camp healthy. He added that Schroth will need more time to reach his old standard after such a long injury break.

Thanks bro. I think I'm finally getting a 1860 shirt this season.

Should we take this and start the 08/09 thread?

The 08/09 season time officially started today.

Very nice... I know some friends and family members who will be egging me on something fierce to purchase a Sechzig shirt this summer.

I still want that trikot retro polo from Die Loewen Shop in the WORST way...

Sweet, they're so awesome, much better than on the leak image.

I can't wait to see the team play in these. The reason we have 2 road kits is due to kit clashing. If another team has dark home kits, we go to the green/gold.

And I must have like 8 pairs of "SECHZIG" socks in assorted colors... :D

Josh Wolff is once again a member of the Kansas City Wizards, joining the club after finishing the 2007-08 European season with TSV 1860 Munich in the 2.Bundesliga.

“I am very excited to be back in Kansas City,” Wolff said. “My family and I obviously have great ties here and it was a difficult decision to leave the first time, but it was something that we had to do. In coming back to the United States and MLS, Kansas City was first and foremost in our minds. It is a new organization, new management and new staff and all I have heard are great things. KC is a tremendous city and the fans have always been wonderful.”

Wolff left Kansas City after the 2006 season after spending four years with the club. He scored 27 goals in 80 appearances. At 31 and with a new four-year deal, Wolff could see out his career in Kansas City.

“Josh (Wolff) is a player that we attempted to sign when Peter Vermes and I first took over,” Wizards coach Curt Onalfo said. “He's a guy we've always wanted. He's a National Team player and an extremely good attacking player. We look forward to getting him incorporated into the team as quickly as possible. I coached him on the US National Team and look forward to coaching him for the Kansas City Wizards.”

I still would have liked to see him with a one year extension at 60 but I guess he was just too expensive in the end. Good luck to him and thanks for helping Sechzig.

Well unless you are over there it will be cost prohibitive. The shipping cost for a single jersey is over $100. I loaded up my shopping basket with up to $500 worth of stuff and the shipping cost stayed the same. Unbelievable that it costs so much to ship a shirt like that when Soccer.com can do the same thing for nearly $20 and STILL ship it 5,000 miles away.

I would wait until a US provider has it to purchase and buy it then. It will save you the exchange rates plus the very costly shipping cost. The other way would be to get someone in the military to buy it for you and ship it to you APO. That way you pay only US rates.

Soccer.com had the old 1860 kits for the same cost in $ as in Euros, so my counsel would be to wait....unless you are going to be in Germany anyway.

Well to the extent that one can predict how difficult a season will be based on last season's performance, here's how I see it....

Tough:
SC Freiburg
1. FSV Mainz 05

Easy:
Rot-Weiß Ahlen

Tough:
MSV Duisburg
FC St. Pauli

Easy:
FC Ingolstadt 04
FSV Frankfurt

Tough:
SpVgg Greuther Fürth

Either Way:
VfL Osnabrück
TuS Koblenz

1. FC Kaiserslautern

Easy:
Rot-Weiß Oberhausen

Tough:
FC Augsburg
FC Hansa Rostock
SV Wehen Wiesbaden
Alemannia Aachen
1. FC Nürnberg

We have a few tough games to start off the season, but the ending could easily turn the entire league depending on where there teams are. I would think at least 2-3 of these teams will be in the top 5.

I think Kaiserslautern will be much improved and Mainz won't be as tough without Klopp leading them........

And I will be... but not until the late winter/early spring of this year. So I shall wait it out...

Seems he has had a falling out with Magath and is looking at a one year contract in Turkey, but that talks with Antalyaspor have fallen through. Seems Trabzonspor and Rapid Wien are also interested in him. For now he will train with the VfL second team.

Rumors are circulating wildly that he wants to come back to 1860 but that since we have Tschauner, Krauss, Hoffmann and Roessl all competing that his agent wants assurances he will be the starter for the pro team.

At 32, should 1860 really be looking at him? The biggest problem to securing him is that he has a contract through 2011 and an abloese of ~$1.5 or more. Perhaps 1860 can get him on a "Lauth-style" loan? :D

For now? That's where Jentzsch spent most of last season man. He fell out with Magath not even halfway through last season. Lenz started some matches for Wolfsburg until they could get to the winter break and get Benaglio.

Jentzsch is only still there because Magath refused to give him away. Now they can't even do that.......

He doesn't deserve such assurances. He was last seen bumbling away at least 9 points for Wolfsburg last season.

His age isn't the issue here. Goalkeeper is the one position where 32 is "prime." However, with the keepers 1860 already have on hand, bringing in Jentzsch doesn't make any sense. When he was last seen, he was making Tschauner look good.

The only "sense" in bringing him in is trying for nostalgia purposes. Bringing back Lauth made sense. I can't see anywhere that bringing back Jentzsch makes any sense unless their goal is simply to bring back good old memories for you guys......

He can't be THAT bad can he? He played 34 games in the 06/07 season and 15 last season. He was sort of made the scape-goat for a VERY underperforming Wolfsburg side. Not saying that he was all that great, but its not like he was total crap either. It is clear he had a falling out with Magath and that no one wants to pick him up because he is too expensive. Something must be up to make him look like total cryptonite. I cannot believe he sucks THAT bad so fast. That's almost Barthez-like speed if true.

Garry. Yes, he was total crap. He wasn't "sort of made a scapegoat" for anything man, he was actually part of the problem. Felix didn't care what your name was, if you were part of the problem you were history.

The only reason they tried to stick with Jentzsch for so long is because they knew that with his contract, they couldn't just dump him. They hoped he'd come around, but when it became clear he wasn't coming around and he was costing his team points, Magath dumped his butt.

Believe me, I thought we'd consider him when we found we'd need to replace Weidenfeller, but going with our amateur keeper was better than bringing in Jentzsch.

You bring up the 2006/2007 season in Jentzsch's favor. I guess you don't remember they finished in 15th place just three points above the relegation zone. And yes, he cost them a few points that season too.

That's the problem Garry. You don't WANT to believe it. I watched it happen. The only reasons Jentzsch had any "falling out" with Magath were he sucked badly, leaked goals and cost Wolfsburg points. Felix doesn't like anyone who makes him look bad and Jentzsch made him look BAD!

The turning point for Jentzsch was that big new contract. After he signed that thing, he went to shit. Almost overnight.

Maybe a simple change of scenery will do him good, but I wouldn't want him on my team.

Trust me. Simon Jentzsch DESERVED the boot he got from Felix Magath. He "earned" it!
