So Master Yoda, how much longer will this downfall continue?

When will The Force once again be with 1860 München?? :(

Clear the future is if Sechzig this way persist. Playing Elversburg in the new BL3 they will be if this way they continue. The Force is weak with Tschuaner. Many younglings better than him are. The Sechzig younglings very well are playing, but defense know them not. Man-marking know them not. Good it is 4 other teams more suck; otherwise Sechzig first-to-worst would be. Turn to the Dark Side they must if "Klassenhalt" they want.

If it was possible to make Offenbach look like a good team, 1860 did it on Sunday. I watched the game and turned it off after 0-2. BOTH goals were scored, just like against Jena and their last few games. They really, really, need close man-marking. Just atrocious.

Brother, if you could see how hard I'm laughing right now!! Not at the '60 situation of course, but because of the way you put it.

Any way an older, 36 year-old former U.S. Jedi warrior can help in defense?

See e-mail I sent to private address earlier........ ;)

You know, back in NOVEMBER I was not worried because it was NOVEMBER and we were on 35 points and I jokingly said "I'm not worried because all we need is 7 more points to pretty much ensure we stay up." I had no way of knowing how friggin prophetic those words would be. How I would LOVE to get 7 friggin' points right now. I just thank God that there are 4 teams who cannot manage, for right now, to put much more together than '60. I hope I live to see this annual "Rueckrunde Curse" go away. Every damn year.....what the Hell is up with the spring in Muenchen? Must be Startkbierzeit that does it to these guys. Maybe its being cooped up in the smoke-filled restaurants all winter that impairs their lungs. I don't know. Something turns ANY 60 team into mere 3BL players from January-April. Every damn year!!!!!

LOL!! No more smoke-filled restaurants dude! That excuse (yes, I know you're kidding) is gone!! LOL!!

I laughed when you brought up the "Rueckrunde Curse" during the winter break.

Not anymore. :(

I think being in the same division as Fuerth some of their bad luck has rubbed off on us. Fuerth are known as the perrenial "chokers" for promotion. 1860 is now known as the team that cannot find their ass with both hands every January-April.

If we want promotion next season we will have to go 18-0-0 and take 54 points. At least THEN we might have a chance. At very least we will be out Fuerth who will implode annualy with 52 points.:D

Starkbierzeit! :D I think that would have quite the opposite effect. We should all take the team out for some Salvators...

I'm gonna go with the Bayern effect. They play hard and take Bayern to extra time in a game that means something and then they all of a sudden think they're superstars and can coast through 2. Liga fixtures. Tschauner, especially.

Also, I think a lot of the historical fades in the Rückrunde is due to 1860 being broke and not being able to bring in reinforcements at the Winterpause, like every other German club seems to always do.

I dunno what's going to pull them out of this, do they play Freiburg soon? :p

Seriously, heads tend to roll in the BL after this kind of tailspin, so while I think Reuter's too smart to blame Kurz for this, look for Ziffzer to say or do something stupid again.

Oddly enough if you read most of the fan boards people are not calling for heads. At least, no more than usual. But there is no outpouring of condemnation for Kurz....yet. If they continue this tailspin...especially after a home game this week....it might be a different story. Below is the remaining schedule. I say we take 5 points from the remaining matches. Assuming we can take 5 points, unless FCK or Aue can take minimum 14 points from their remaining 6 games, we should be okay. THAT is how bad the bottom of the league is right now. But...if we DON'T take a few points, FCK or Aue only need 9 points to catch us so EVERY point counts now.

Well they won instead of drawing against Wehen. The score was 2-1 but the game was not as close as the score makes it sound. IMHO the Sechzgers dominated but just could not put the chances in. DiSalvo missed a sitter, Goektan missed two. Bierofka shanked what could have been the game winner only to put in Goektan's rebound 3 mins later. Wehen scored in injury time when Sechzig thought it was done. My bet Kurz reads them the riot act on that one.

Kurz opted to sit Hofmann AND Berhalter. Not sure why but Gregg was in the stands, not even dressed (see below). As hard as he has played this year I hope its not a banishment to the stands. If an injury I hope not a bad one.

Kurz opted for the following formation which seemed to work:

Tschauner

Johnson Thorandt Szukala B. Schwarz

D. Schwarz S. Bender

Bierofka Goektan Wolff

Di Salvo

Garry, I think the vets sat to get the kids some more experience. The season is pretty much over for 1860, so they can afford to do this.

Also, I wouldn't say the changes "worked." I think 1860 was the better of two really poor sides last night. I was not impressed at all. I couldn't believe I sat through that match.

I disagree. Before the game they were 6 poitns above FCK for the last relegation sport. 1860 has not openly said it much but they have grone from talk of promotion to talk of relegation in a matter of 6 weeks. Sure FCK would have take maximum points over 4 of 5 remaining games AND hope that 1860 (or one of the other teams) drop nearly ALL points....but stranger things have happened.

Agreed, buts its all mental now. These guys needed the win last night to get the monkey off their back. You know that even the best teams can play like U16 boys when their mental state is demolished. So is 1860 right now.

Reuter said before the match last night on DSF that relegation isn't on their minds at all.

It seems only paranoid fans are worried about it..... ;)

They've got some tough matches coming up. I'll be at the next two home matches against Freiburg and Osnabrueck.

I originally typed a really good response but BS puked all over it and I am not pithy enough to retype the whole damn thing. Suffice to say that before last night:

1860 had not won a game since since BEFORE xmas
had scored very few goals
had gone from 4 points behing the promotion runners to 6 points above the relegation runners
Were 1 point above Augsburg, Osnabrueck and OffenbachGiven all that you better believe Reuter's pucker-factor was high.

As do FCK: two against promotion teams and 3 against relegation teams. Perhaps he was banking on FCK being just a bit worse than we are.

Appears Berhalter was injured. Thought I heard the announcers on the LoewenTV say he had a hip problem. Wonder if Kurz kicked him in the hip in training and they replaced him.
