I saw the note on Kicker about Lech Poznari midfielder Przemysław Pitry being looked at by 1860. My German is terrible but it sounded like it would be a free transfer.

There is also a note about Kurz wanting to keep Schäffler from prying hands I think.

Your German cannot be as bad as mine...

Yeah, about right. but Pitry's a striker, though, not a midfielder. Kurz also says he'd like to get Schäffler a shot with the first team.

Also, there's some kind of board meeting Monday to discuss Von Linde's impending departure/next election candidates and specifically if any further investments are lined up to put more cash into the club coffers.

That's about it. Pitry would be interesting. Schaeffler has been linked with Augsburg but the youth development head basically said its "fluff" and ain't going to happen. Kurz goes on to say that Schaeffler can book his seat with the first team for next season.....high praise.

More doubts about a Wörns deal. Reuter says it turns out to be very difficult.
Who's suprised? He probably earns more than our entire team.

The Klitzpera option is probably more realistic.

Reuter is also after Sascha Traut (Koblenz), but again he has another year on his contract. Although he should be more affordable than Tiffert. (250k?)

Göktan to KSC? Where is his loyalty to Kurz and 1860. Without Kurz he'd still be kicking with the kids in the Isarauen...

The club elected executive is trying to line up who will replace AvL. The politics of this is very, very odd.

I am. Wörns "only" earned 1.5M with BVB the past couple of seasons. He took a pay cut a couple of years ago. He's not expensive and not stupid enough to think he can get big money now.

That guy just wants to keep playing.

The "difficulty" is probably that Wörns is simply waiting to see if he gets any 1. Liga offers.

Why should he rush to sign with 1860 when some 1. Liga club or better 2. Liga club might come calling with a chance??

I know he'd like a call from MSV Duisburg. He wouldn't even have to move. Or Arminia Bielefeld.

Everything isn't about money.

The Klitzpera option is probably more realistic.

Actually, it probably isn't. Kitzpera will require a transfer fee.

Reuter is also after Sascha Traut (Koblenz), but again he has another year on his contract. Although he should be more affordable than Tiffert. (250k?)

Are you starting to realize that there isn't much 1860 can really do??

Göktan to KSC? Where is his loyalty to Kurz and 1860. Without Kurz he'd still be kicking with the kids in the Isarauen...

Man, don't you know many people don't discover "loyalty" until they have no place else to turn?

And loyalty works both ways. Where the hell would 1860 be without Göktan over the past season and half??

Probably the Regionalliga.

If the player gets a 1. Liga offer, why shouldn't he take it?

Anyone's first loyalty is to themselves. Anyone who says different is a soldier, a slave or goddamned liar.

And what is that anyhow? Some bullshit local rumor??

According to "kicker", KSC is chasing FC Luzern's midfielder David Chiumiento. They are also interested in Mainz' Markus Feulner.

They wouldn't play Göktan at striker. They've already got four strikers better than Göktan.

I told LoewenBoy last year that 1860 wouldn't have to worry about any bigger clubs coming after Göktan.

I don't think KSC will either. Even if they don't get one of the other two guys, they can do better than Göktan.

So you mean he's only considering 1860 for his mate Reuter?

Still better than waiting for Wörns or until he on a free next year. I don't think he'll join us in BL3...:D

Rolf Dohmen confirmed his interest recently so it's not just a rumour.

I don't think this is a true reflection of his abilities. Göktan scored 10 in 23. That's a pretty good quote for a player in a shit team like 1860. KSC can do better, but how about Cottbus, Duisburg or even FCN?

I'd say that yes. What did you think he was doing it for?? He has no ties to that area.

Why the impatience?? It's not like training camp is starting tomorrow.

Rolf Dohmen confirmed his interest recently so it's not just a rumour.

I've been following KSC's rumors because I like them and they were trying to find a way to get Federico back. I've never seen the name Göktan come out of his mouth or be attributed to him.

Where can I find Dohmen confirming interest in Göktan??

FCN has four better strikers on the roster already. Cottbus has three. Duisburg has four better strikers on the roster.

None of them will sign him as a #10.

Dude, Göktan is good for 1860. In most other places, especially in the 1. Liga or at one of the newly relegated clubs, Göktan wouldn't be the fourth guy off the bench.

You guys don't have some kind of budding star in Göktan. You have a guy who finally found a situation in which he's very useful.

Just because he's very useful to you, it doesn't mean he's that way to clubs better than you at the moment.

I don't expect Göktan to get any offers. But if he ever does, I wouldn't blame him for bolting for a better situation.

Even if he would never see the pitch again.

If Göktan wants to move up to a Bundesliga club, why would 1860 stand in his way? Especially considering if Reuter holds out for a high Ablöse, they could likely bring in multiple players to fill holes.

Baier's departure last summer did the same thing, bringing in an additional 450.000 € in available transfer budget.

The only one I could see who might consider a player like Göktan is Hoffenheim, but they can do better.

He's not good enough for anyone else and even in Hoffenheim, he'd be second or third off the bench.

Baier's departure last summer did the same thing, bringing in an additional 450.000 € in available transfer budget.

Baier had more upside than Göktan. Göktan is pretty much as good as he's going to get.

He just is not an 1. Liga player.

Hey Lionhead! Nevermind! I found your Göktan/KSC source.

AZ, right??

Dude, I'd hardly call what he said "interest in Göktan"

He said, "Yes, Göktan is a player whom we have in our focus. We would be careless not to think of him at all. "Espeically when we have heard that Munich does not want to extend his contract."

Do you know how many players are in KSC's "focus?"

Even if Dohmen said that, which with the source being AZ is highly questionable, they would only want him because he would come cheap. Its funny that when Dohmen talks to "Kicker" or any other national source the name Göktan doesn't come up. Haven't seen it once.

Anyhow, let's entertain AZ's scenario. KSC got 1.5M from BVB for Hajnal. You can bet they wouldn't pay you guys a fourth of that for Göktan. KSC is not into spending money.

I already tipped KSC to be in the relegation battle next season. If they go for this guy, that will just secure it.....

But I think AZ probably ASKED him about Göktan and Dohmen gave them a "nice" response.

Even at Transfermarkt.de, they call the status of the rumor "vague...."

New president: 2. Bundesliga side TSV 1860 München have a new president following Dr. Albrecht von Linde's departure.

The club's supervisory board has elected Rainer Beeck (45) as new president. (http://bundesliga.de/en/liga2/news/2007/index.php?f=95293.php&fla=1)

Keinz, nada, nix, zilch....other than what is in the article: he is a self-employed investment banker, so in theory he should understand finances. Hopefully he has some good ties and is fiscally conservative.

Hey on another note, we are going past Huntsville on our way back from NC around the 4th of July but you guys are on the road to Phoenix. Too bad...almost could have taken in a RCU game. :D

Our game is in Greenville on the 5th, the next weekend would be when to come - we play Monterrey's reserves. That should be a good game.

Well, our B-team will not be winning promotion to the new 3 BL next year. Werder Bremen, Stuttgart, and the scum's reserves all made it. Borussia Dortmund has a chance but they need a bit of help. Also, I just noticed that four teams out of the RL Nord begin their names with Rot-Weiss, how confusing does that get? As things stand right now, two of them will be joining us in the 2 next year, the other two will go to the 3.

I don't think our (BVB's) guys will make it. We left too much to do. And we've been playing like shit lately. I was hoping to finally see an 1860 v. BVB match at the Grunwalder Stadion.

I guess I'll have to continue waiting......

They really ruined their chances when the Pros raided them from Jan-May to fill in the holes they were having. I think if the IIs had stayed together more, fewer injuires, they would have made it.

Then again, when you think half these kids were playing U17 or U19 ball last year it still is one hell of an accomplishment.

Uwe Wolf, who was trainer of the IIs this year, has been named as another Co-Trainer for the pros. He will be part of the team that currently has Kurz, Simonitsch and Wittmann.

I might be wrong here, but this bodes well for the theorists thinking Reuter is on the way out. For him to be promoted to that roll requires Kurz and Reuter to agree. If there was any big power play going on right now this would not have happened.
