If we cannot win this in a convincing matter, say goodbye to Euro 2004.

Well, 0-0 at the half w/ typical lazy & chaotic play from Poland...what else is new?

1-0 to Poland - the debutante, Sobolewski w/ a 20 yard strike from his left foot.

2-1 final for the Poles, late goals for each team lead to the result. Apparently the second half was played much better and the Wisla players who were inserted plus Kosowski stepped up the level of play.
Also it's kind of fitting that Hajto apparently played well after absolutely killing Oli over his missing yet another national game and still being possible for his league match this coming weekend.
On another related note, apparently Latvia, our opponent in two weeks got smashes 3-0 in Riga gainst Uzbekistan, yep that's right mighty Uzbekistan. Can't wait for the match report from that one.

A mass fight broke out in the dying minutes of the friendly between Latvia and Uzbekistan leading to two sendings-off after the visitors went 3-0 up in the 86th minute on Wednesday.
Uzbekistan substitute Alexander Geinrikh, who scored the third goal, immediately attacked down the flank before becoming embroiled in a tussle with a Latvian defender which resulted in a brawl involving most players on the field.
Latvian captain Mihails Zemlinskis and Uzbekistan's Bahtiyr Ashurmatov were both handed a red card after the incident.
The game ended with a 3-0 win to Uzbekistan.
Latvia, in European Championship qualifying Group Four, face Poland at home on September 6 and then Hungary at home four days later. They lie third in the table.

I wouldn't look too much into that result in Riga. The Latvia game will still be difficult. I do think we'll end up winning that one, but the game against Sweden will be another story. And we need to win both to have any chance at advancing. Hopefully Oli will play.

im happy for Sobolewski
and oli is really starting to get on my nervous with his BS excuses.
its do or die for us the next game against latvia, and i hope that the players understand that.... and i think it would be a shame for us to miss Euro 04

We always missed Euro's. So we need some luck on our side and players that want to play.
