What can be done for Canada to improve in the international that much more? Canada did very well in the Gold Cup, did badly in the U-20 WC, and a bit better effort in the Olympics Qualifiers.

How far are to making ConCaCaf a three horse race instead being two?
What do most of you think?

Is a foreign manager going to be the key?
Could we hopefully find a Bruce Arena from our own Canadian ranks.
Maybe bring Arena himself he is not doing much now and would love to beat the US each time they would play.

I want to see Canada make the 2010 WC and then improving from that moment on. We got so many talented players we got to bring it all together sometime soon.

I know they are the proverbial whipping boys but the CSA is a joke and it has effected/affected the game.

Its these morons who sit on provincial boards and hoard power.

We need some real leadership. TFC, Impact and the Whitecaps are a great start, we need to build on that. The Whitecaps residency program will bring great results too.

Put professionals in charge of the CSA, make them generate a budget with the allocated federal funds, merchandising, sponsors, friendlies, etc. and stop piggy-backing off registered soccer players.

You can't kick out the amateur self-minded provincial reps while still grabbing money from their players.

Why has it that not one person try to set up a good system in the front office of the CSA. Canada should really be equal to USA and Mexico in the ConCaCaf. We got the money, the talented players, and we got some decent managers(Maybe). I think that someone needs to come in and put some focus on fixing every single bit of the CSA. I wish someone like Frank Yallop could work in the office I think he would fix things up. Hell I would even take Bruce Arena that guy would love to make a team better that the US what other motivation there for him. We(Canada) needs to really figure things out or else we may not make to the 2010 WC. I think from what I have seen from the Gold Cup Canada should be able to qualify.

Actually we don't have the money and that is entirely the problem. The problem is nobody at the CSA seems to be able to raise more money through sponsorships and endorsements and there doesn't seem to be any great motivation on their end for the radical changes that could help on that end.

CSA is runned by a bunch of clown. They run that system like a favor for a favor, sack the CSA should be a step forward but we would have to find the right people to guide the program because right now what's happening is that we just keep foolin around. There's also a lack in terms of financing and sponsor. I mean if you look at it, in Toronto, who happens to be in the MLS, they don't even have a billboard or a banner for Canadien soccer, I might be wrong but as far as I remember last year, it was a US Soccer Foundation banner as part of the billboard on the field, which might not be important, but imo that's just show how far behind we are from the US in terms of developing the program here.

I guess you may be right though I hope someday someone will just come in and set things right for the CSA.

CSA doesnt use the immigrant base that we have here in our country, I think Patrick Tobo (fomer cameroon international) is the man for the job on a technical level, check his credits people, and thats just one example.

1st-dump the CSA-we need a professionally run FA...
2nd-the greatest foreign TD/coach won't help us unless he has the power to change the way we develop youth talent
3rd-everybody has to be on board with the changes, every coach or club or Provincial Assoc. thinking that he/it knows more than the national TD and doing their own system and we end where we are now
4th-those of us who bitch and whine about the state of our game have to get of our butts and learn to coach(not me I've done my time)

I'd be against replacing Dale Mitchell at this time. He's done a good job in a difficult situation, and the players are very supportive of him.

I dont really kno canada's team techincally but from what I seen last night this is how they should set up in the future.

in my opinion Rad&friend should come off the bench.

Whats your starting XI?

We have the players but once again it comes back to tactics, we didnt tie Jamaica we were out coached, should have easily disposed of there team.

The reason for that is that in MLS, pretty much everything is controlled by the league, and that includes advertising on the side of the pitch. They have a contarct with the USSF and it covers all stadiums including BMO for TFC games.

You can also see adverts for Dick's Sporting Goods, which I don't think has any stores in Canada. There are some Canadian adverts though, I've seen for Pizza Pizza and a few other Canadian companies so I guess there is some space for CSA advertising if they chose to do so, and they should.

If you watched the WC qualifier the other day you will have noticed that all US advertising was not present since this was not an MLS event.

i'm aware of the leagues deal with ussf, but i think that CSA should make sure they get their name on a bmo field board.
I was at the game the other night and noticed all the CSA boards, which showed me lack of sponsorship for the csa.
