Opened on Oct. 1, 2007, The Dome is the largest fully-air supported structure of its kind in North America, perhaps even the world, and features the only full-sized indoor soccer pitch in the state, up to eight soccer practice fields, two collegiate-sized softball fields, a regulation size football field, a baseball diamond, batting cages and more.

Thanks for the read....interesting stuff on how hard it is to play soccer up in Alaska. Can't imagine how hard that would be. Heck if it is mid 40's and raining where I coach I can't get a single person on the field and most of those kids would probably kill for that.

Yep, you're right, that's my sons favorite soccer weather! :D

Our family loves playing at The Dome. The only down side is we now are playing and practicing in the fall/winter/spring on a larger field. I kinda like the small sided games played in small tight elementary school gymnasiums. The play emphasized individual ball control, quick movement on and off the ball, and creativity.

Fyi, The Dome is located in Anchorage not Kenai. Kenai is located about 140 miles south of Anchorage.
