Why is the FIFA tournament subforum has only the groups in the men's competition and has not the women's competition?

Because the Women's tournament will be located in the Women's International forum.

Will be? When?
Because it is not there. I had looked. There is no olympic thread. There are some friendly games in a thread but no subforum of olympic groups and it's about 40 days until it the offical games start. I understand that the football will start earlier than the official start too.

Why do all teams play on the same day, once every 3 days? Wouldn't it make more sense to spread the matches out more so that fans have football to watch every day?

it seems really stupid if you ask me. not only that but 4 games happen simultaneously and then the next 4 after that, so we can only watch 2 live games each round of first round games, how silly. I don't remember was it like this last time ?

Just looking at the first day we have Netherlands-Nigeria and Argentina-Cote d'Ivoire played at the same time. Two matches worthy of a semifinal! Like you said: pretty stupid.
(Now lets just hope my TV channel doesn't decide to show China x New Zealand instead)

If I'm not mistaken, the Dutch television broadcaster NOS will put the Dutch matches also on the internet. Their internetsite is www.nos.nl
There is a chance that the broadcast via the site is only available for Dutch people. The way around it is to pretend you are Dutch by logging in via a Dutch proxy server.

I don't know if this has been brought up before, but why doesn't Great Britain field an Olympic team? I think that they would be a pretty good side, with players from England, Scotlan, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

its been brought up before. Here's the short answer. The British do not want to set a precedent for FIFA. they currently are allowed (being the birth of the game) to field seperate national teams and there are many in FIFA who want them to compete as either Great Britain (as in the olympics) or the U.K. So the British never even enter the Olympic soccer tournament.

There have been instances where a combined British team competed in the Olympics. Great Britain, has competed as a unified British team as recently as 1960. If fact, Britain has won 3 Olympic Gold Medals.

Yea, didn't Italy had to play a playoff with Portugal to qualify for the Olympics because England reached the semifinals of the U21 EC?

as "recently" as 1960 England carried a bit more clout with FIFA than they do now. Their other wins were, IIRC, before there even was a FIFA.

Only one of their Olympic titles (1900) occurred before there was a FIFA.

yeah, the FA never really liked FIFA in the beginning so it was probably before England Joined FIFA.
