Any chance the Revs will make a trade before the deadline? The Rapids have already picked up Joe Cannon.

I don't think it's likely, but the article on MLSnet.com points out that the Revs have made deadline deals in 3 of the last 5 years:

Trading Deadline (http://www.mlsnet.com/content/03/90min0818deadline.html)

Leo Cullen added in 2001,
Leo Alvarez in 2000 and
Damian 1998.

What we gave up to get him was Oscar Pareja, but I wasn't going to mention that, otherwise El Jefe will come in here asking if he can have Twellman in return for Ezra Hendrickson.

~The Revs have Vazsques as excess baggage otherwise most of the players on the roster are viable.
~Because of the injury proneness of some of our starters the Revs could use another Defender and another Forward.
~Revs have a lot of picks for the 2004 Super Draft but they don't like to draft beyond the first two rounds.
~I can see them sending draft picks somewhere for a low cost defender or forward (how about that kid the Colorodo picked up from a Bosto Collegen in the 6th round that did so well in preseason) and slotting them into the Vazquez slot after they pay him off.

My bet is that the Revs sit tight. Nicol likes his current roster and he has draft picks and an allocation for 2004.

That's Casey Schmidt. Colorado just gave up some draft picks in order to get Joe Cannon. Maybe they'd like to get some draft picks back. I'd trade draft picks for Schmidt. He's looked good for the few minutes I've seen him.

I would like to see a move to get another defender. Cullen or Wolde and a draft pick might get someone that can play right away or at least pressure Heaps or someone else into playing better. This team needs a jolt in the arm and a trade may be just the ticket. As for Schmidt, I have to say I have not been impressed with him at all. Would rather have Wolde than him....ouch did i say that?

FWIW, I've heard that something might be cooking with the Revs and a Western Conference team, but it doesn't look like anything Earth-shattering.

For a Revs team in need, anything can be Earth-shattering. Except Ruiz-Twellman. That would just about collapse the universe. :)

Can you give us more details?
