www.deadlystrike.com is featuring a free fantasy soccer game with live drafts for leagues of 8 teams.

We still have 4 openings in the BigSoccer league for the EPL Premiership Fantasy Soccer draft that will occur this week as soon as we get to eight teams.

Each manager drafts a roster of 10 players, they can be any position. Each week you assign 8 as your starters and gain points based on the performance of your starters. Goals = 10 pts; Assists=3 pts; Defender clean sheet=3 pts; GK Clean Sheet=10 pts.

You can start 8 strikers if you have them. Trades will be allowed between managers and from the unused player pool.

There are only 3 slots left for the 8-team BigSoccer league of the Deadlystrike EPL Fantasy Soccer game with a live draft.

If we get three more tonight, our draft could begin as early as 5 AM EST tomorrow for those leagues who have 8 teams registered.

Each team is given an hour to make their pick so the draft goes over a few days if everyone takes his/her time. If a manager misses his deadline, then a player is randomly assigned to the team.

Managers unable to participate actively in the draft can submit a draft plan and the commissioner will try to draft in accordance with the plan based on who is still available.

Let's get 3 more signed up so we can start our draft before work tomorrow.

Back to needing 4 teams.

BTW, this is a Head-to-Head league where you match the fantasy scores of your team against another team and not against the world.

I'm not going to lock any more leagues tonight. Otherwise users won't have enough time to look over the draft options before starting. The 'Big Soccer' League should be full by tomorrow and then the draft will start on Wednesday.

2 extra players in case a few of the others are hurt, suspended, not playing well, ect.

I don't think so but it really doesn't matter. You can also create another league or join a existing one.

They should just have transfers like other fantasy games.

There will be transfers. You also get to keep an extra two players as well.

Our draft started yesterday and only 4 of 8 managers made their own pick. I have sent an email to the managers requesting them to identify themselves as committed, active managers. Based on who responds, we will drop the inactive managers, make the league private, get a password, and recruit active managers and start our draft all over again once we reach 8 active participants.

Post here if you would like to join our 8 team BigSoccer league in this head-to-head fantasy soccer game. Only post if you agree to be active and stay the course.

Also, PM me with your email address so I can send you the password.

Thanks,

For those who have already drafted and started leagues, how does the site seem to be run?
If we can find 8 active managers, would it still be possible to start a league prior to Week 2?

Doctor Jones asks whether there is time to establish another DeadlyStrike.com 8 team league for active managers and have the draft in time for Week 2.

The answer is yes, with caveats.

The draft system does not force moves in the evenings or on weekends. Therefore, if you have one inactive manager of the 8, it will hold up the draft at least overnight.

Why prior to week 2? DeadlyStrike.com has also said that they won't start Head-to-Head competitions until Week 3. This leads me to believe we have some time.

I am the only remaining manager in the original BigSoccer League. The other active managers (4 of 8, including myself) from the original draft bolted and joined the justkickit league and took almost a full day to conclude our draft. There were several glitches with the draft cards and in conducting the draft even then. Hopefully, these glitches have been fixed. DeadlyStrike.com does seem very responsive in fixing glitches.

Here is what I propose for getting a second league for active managers up and running before Saturday.

1. That the managers all agree to take no more than 10 or maybe 15 min to make a move. (If you have a draftcard, the system, even if online, will grab a name off the draftcard if you haven't selected within 5 min of going on the clock. This doesn't work if in the evening freeze of forced moves.)

2. I would propose that the managers mutually agree to start and conclude the draft in a continuous fashion regardless of whether it went into a "no forced" move time. As long as managers keep drafting, the draft can proceed.

3. For 7 more managers who would agree with points 1 and 2 above, send me a PM with your email address, and I'll email you the password for the BigSoccer League. Once we get 8 and they lock the league and start the draft, we go until done and don't take days or even have to wait hours between picks.

4. A couple of other suggestions. For another live fantasy soccer draft for FLMLS, we found that using a BigSoccer Chat room worked well. I would suggest that we try to have a chat room open.

5. As one who has gone through the horrors of the live draft, I would be willing to share some lessons learned with the other managers prior to conducting a draft. It might lessen the instances where we have to post errors and petition DeadlyStrike.com to correct them. For example, it seems very difficult to maintain a draft card in the correct order that you desire. The positions, at least last time, frequently changed. Further, we got suprised by the 5 min mark and having the system automatically make your selection from someone on your draft card. You get an email saying you have an hour to make your pick. Not so fast!!!
