Another big game for us with another team caught in the relegation battle. I just have a bad feeling we won't get anything out of this one. Newcastle has been playing well as of late and our away form has been less than desireable. I would be very happy with a point. Look for Cisse to get the start in place of Matejoveski. Also Little and Murty are rumored to possibly be involved. Personally I am hoping that Convey can at least get on the bench again and maybe get a few minutes in.

18 minute bad defense resulting in a Martins goal. Not good.

We have to capitalize on our chances. The front line has looked good but no finishing.

This game has not been going so well thus far, but a 2-0 goal line at the half does not tell the full story. It seems like a case, as Laudy said, of Newcastle capitalizing on the chances they get, while Reading is not. Our defense could improve a bit as well, they have not been awful but not top-class either. I feel like this game is not yet out of reach for at least a point.

44th minute more poor defense and another Newcastle goal. The back line just looks horrid. This match is crucial and we are playing like a championship side. Losing Matejovsky has proved to be big as there is no control in the middle. This is not the team we have seen the last few weeks. This is the team that was close to relegation.

Newcastle 2-0

Viduka makes it 3-0. Ugh that was bad play in the back

Relegation is back on the table after this pathetic showing from Reading. I'll give Newcastle credit, they have played very well but Reading is just flat and has no reponse to the Newcastle front line. A nice play resulted in the 3rd goal and perhaps the final nail in the coffin for this match.

Well thats the match. Our defense is at least looking comfortable letting in goals every time Newcastle comes near the net. The problem is our strikers can't attempt to take a shot to save their life.

Convey gets some mop up time.

Convey in for Oster. Nice to see Bobby back in the 1st team but not under these circumstances.

I said it before that Doyle and Kitson have no chemistry. I don't know why Coppell keeps them together. That's right we have no other choices except for Long. We need help at forward and must make some changes if we are lucky enough to stay above relegation.

Kitson comes off 71 minutes too late. Cisse who has been horrific is finally off. Fae and Long on.

That was a pitiful attempt by Hunt in the box.

Long in Kitson, Fae in for Cisse

At least only Wigan will pass, everyone else staying pat so we are at least still, what 6 points out of regulation.

An absolute must win next week with Fulham at home.

I don't think they strung together more than 3 passes in these last 15 minutes.

To quote Ramsay: Someone needs to light a fire under these boys' bottoms.

Positive: Matejovsky is back next week.
Negatives: We're stuck with everyone else on the team starting again.

I only saw the second half, but they looked like a bunch of strangers out there today. And the only play I saw that had any chance, Hunt missed completley.

Poor game from Reading today. At least Bolton are still struggling and I don't see them coming out from the drop zone. Big game against Fulham next week. A win will keep us in the prem for another season.
