Like the Supernova version of the Mania? I wish Adidas had stuck with that idea :( It would be cool if that were a miAdidas option...

Ok so I saw the new adidas catalog today and I will expand on the pictures that are floating here and at the other usual locations.
The Preds:There will be as we know a, Control, Power, and a Swerve model as well as the Becks ClimaCool, the standard Pred black and red, and the CL model. Now I am not sure what the hell the Swerve, Control, and Power models offer that make all of them different other than color and texture of the synthetic mid foot. There were no pictures of the top of the boots to see if the vamps were different or info about possible increase in weight for the powers (which is Bull$hit if they do it). Now considering the Pred tag line has always been more power, swerve, and control all rolled into one why are they are only offering 3 out of 6 models that have all those "features" in the ClimaCool's, the standard colorway, and the CL's (I assume) and then offering 3 that only give you one feature? Oh, get this..the price has been jacked up to $220 as well, even for the normal colorway so if you want a Pred, get them now before they tack on another $30.00 for the same hunk of crap shoe that rips afters 4 games or less. I have seen nothing about the fantasy Preds, but Swanny knows his stuff so I trust him. Oh no wide fit option either, unless they are doing it as an FG of the rugby model, but I forgot to look in the back of the book for that.
This price increase and division of features is another major mistake by Adidas, the shoe isn't worth the cost. Also they are killing their own BS rhetoric about the shoe adding to those three aspects of your game. If the vamps are the same on all of them, how is one different than the other in terms of swerve, power and control? Also why buy one shoe that limits you for that much when you can get one of the other three colors that seems to have all three features rolled into one? I am not one that thinks the Preds make a big difference in your game but they market them as boots that do, and now they are stepping back on their own words and asking for more money...pi$$ poor.
The Tunit: Same crap shoe as now, but the graphics are different that is all and we have all seen the pics, no changes like removable blades or Adidas saying "Hey this shoe blows so we are killing it and bringing out something like the guys in the Tunit ads really wear...the old F-50" Also they have the balls to bring out a "Messi" model upper that is sliver and blue with his name scribbled in something looking like a signature on the side, pretty bold considering he is usually in the F-30 outright or a mocked up F-30 that has a clear heal area (or paint to look clear). Also shocker...no F-30 Messi colorway, even though anyone that knows boots knows he is in 30's.
The AdiPure...AdiCrap!!!! The current model short of being slightly too narrow is about perfect, central lacing, actual eyelets to lace instead of the glued on "speed lace" eyelets, classic looks, and a major take up in the pro and amateur ranks. So do they fix the few flaws like make the lasting board able to flex more and line the heel better and address the difference in fit between Fg/Sg and the TF/ID models ? Nope, they totally over haul the boot and take all the good out of it for more typical crap.
Now the boot looks like a half retro half futuristic mix-up, the Harvey Two-Face of boots. The lacing is off set, and now is half normal eyelet and half the other half glued on "speed laces" which will pop much easier if a cleat gets tangled in them (easily done too considering the laces are exposed). The adidas stripes are on the outside of the foot but not the inside, and overall design is very ugly. To top if off they are not offering a Sg to the USA and they are killing the TF and ID models for "AdiCore" which is a calfskin version of the boot, so no K-leather option if the indoor crowd or those who prefer turfs to cleats on field turf.
So my final verdict is....Adidas sucks and blows at the same time, which is hard to do unless you are a Hoover ReadyVac. Once again I say they need to fire their global director of football, he is the final word on these awful boots, concepts and redesigns coming to light. Also the head of quality control has a lot to answer for for the time between 2006 and now....the boots fall apart all the time and its because they are glued well, the outsole edges aren't rounded and finished so they get stuck into the ground and cause them to rip away. Not to mention 2 of the shoes have only been around 1 year or less and they are unloading new models almost before they finish shipping out out the current designs.
If you are still hanging on to the Titanic of football brands the iceberg has been hit, the water is flooding the ship and its about to go under. This means if you want to save your money get the Preds before 1-1-09 when the up the price for boot they did nothing to improve. Also grab up as many AdiPures as you can because the next one is going to suck, suck and suck. Not to mention anyone wanting nicer leather for the indoor/turf games should get them when they can because they will be replaced with a crap calfskin model.
Something is seriously wrong over there in Germany, they are trying too hard to be Nikeish with the constant colorway releases and redesigns but they are failing because they aren't spacing the releases and redesigns out enough or making any real improvements with any of them, in some cases they are regressing. They aren't marketing their players well or drawing interest from younger buyers because they totally lack any cool factor with the lame products and lack of star power behind them because they don't give us anything we want to see.
Utter disgust....I know they check the forum to see if we are leaking their product info....Well Adidas you know who I am because you got worked up about me leaking info and made threats of legal action...Well sue me for this quote YOU F'N SUCK, HAVE FUN WATCHING NIKE'S BACK AS THEY BLOW PAST YOU.

ok... hopefully one of you can give me some advice... sorry in advance for writing too much
im seriously thinkin about gettin some adipure trx's. i tried a pair on real quick and they felt great... but i got a couple of questions first:
1.) ive been sportin puma v1.06's for a while now so ive sorta become spoiled as far as how light they are (7-8 oz's), and ive had a difficult time gettin used to heavier boots only to come back to my pumas...
so, how light are the adipures? they are listed betwen 9.2 - 9.6 oz's on various websites... but how light do they actually feel when you play? .. I'm a winger/attackin back type, so my game depends alot on quickness and i prefer something light..
2.) how about the sizing? get a 1/2 size bigger or do they run true to the size?
3.) Durability? this is my biggest issue with my puma speed boots..
thanks yall

why are preds (control, power, swerve, etc.) and tunits F50.9 going up in price but adiPURE II's are going to be less? are they really going to be that bad?

I agree with JC earlier post, as a big fan of adidas in the past, I am growing increasingly unhappy with sizing of gear being different all the time, and preds becoming worse and worse, (and sizing). I think Nike is completely passing them up on the world soccer scene, attracting more younger people, better stars for marketing, and I hate to say it, but getting better and better with their boots. I have purchased a couple of preds lately and they dont fit the same, despite being labelled the same size. Tunits are absolute crap, yet they continue to make millions of versions of them, and apart from the Adipure this year, they havent come up with a solid boot in 10 yrs. or so(preds)? besides copas, from the 70's. I wonder if many other people are getting this same feeling about adidas?

They need to go back to the years of the Mania and few modles before! When they were all K-Leather instead of the plastic ish shit on the arches!:eek: They did make a little improvement with the plastic arches and powerpulse from the absolute to the PowerSwerve. Still could use some work.

Would anyone recommend the current powerswerves as a good reliable, durable boot? I was thinking about getting the olympics.

They are in here and/or the new release thread...they are just new colors, not a new design

I think they are more durable than the Absolute but that isn't saying much at all considering the Abs would fall apart if a gust of wind hit them. Durable and Adidas don't go in the same sentence these days unless you are talking Copa's.

Like JC said they didn't rip as easily as the Absolutes did. I've got the white K leather ones and they are easier to clean than the CL Absolutes.
They also offer a narrower fit than the Absolutes and that may work for some people and not for others.
Definitely an improvement in the Predator series. Have been using the Adipure and Powerswerves this summer. Had a pair of Vapor SL previously!
