So as things stand, with Portsmouth having not applied for Intertoto, we're in Europe next year. Lovely, been a good season in the end, close, but we did it. Can we stop now please?

OK, anyone think we've got a chance if the Premier League don't stop it all now? Looking at the fixtures City and Villa have left I think we'll struggle ... but then again they are both losing points and a month ago I didn't think we'd be above them now.

It'll be close.

yeh i was just thinking the same thing. Is that a definate portsmouth have not applied. Mind you with how things are going pompy could finish 5 and everton have applied. I think we are a better side than city and villa but with games against liverpool and united coming up then its going to be tough.

Apparently they deffo haven't applied. They should be OK with the cup anyway, although knowing this season Barnsley'll win it.

I think we're a better side than Villa and City at the moment too, but yeah the Liverpool and Manure fixtures are the big stumbling blocks. The other two will have to drop a couple of bad games to make up for it but the way they've been playing lately there's evey chance they will.

Everton better not **** it up.

Just think how wonderful it will feel if ManUre lose the title, because they lose to Rovers. We can win any match on our day, and if not, we can at least give that winking little turd, Ronaldo, a bit of a kicking.

Yeah the United game at home is always a result neither side can be sure of. I know a couple of my Manure mates aren't looking forward to it, well the ones who know their stuff anyway, the armchairs are as gobby as ever. In fact one has just walked in as I write, he's from Milton Keynes, only been to a couple of games and hates Man U hangers on (his words not mine, he honestly can't see the irony). He's the most obnoxious one here, always has an opinion and is trying to marry SAF.

I'm sure Warnock won't let us down in the Ronaldo department. I remember seeing him kicked up in the air last year, almost as good as a goal. Erm, well it would be if I wasn't above all that sort of thing ... I mean;)

I consider chivalry and valour above most things in football, but kicking Ronaldo comes above everything at the moment. :D

sounds like a typical united fan. We have a few at work who try to wind me up but they have never even been to old trafford on their live.

When I went to Old Trafford last year I made a point of telling him what seat I'd got and asking him if it was a good one. "Errmmm .. yeah ... umm ... Old Trafford ... Theatre of Dreams ... um ... don't know!"

It's always good to remind him I've been to Old Trafford and seen Manure more times than him.

Hi Chaps and Chapesses

Just registered but read the threads for some time.

In reply to Revelian you are quite right that Manure fans are idiots, but if you think about it a bit more, is that really fair on idiots?

Good point, I think we're being a bit harsh on idiots.

Oh and welcome :)

FlyingV: Welcome and glad you are here!

Why on earth would Portsmouth not register for Intertoto? Look at the easy ride we had this year into getting into UEFA through it.... However, let us not reflect on our departure from UEFA -- *sigh*.

Let's look at our final fixtures of the season... the next two against Lpool and ManUtd, and the other three against Derby, Porto and Brum.

Away at Porto will tell alot about our getting into UEFA next season through traditional means. And, while I love Sav and expect that he will get a warm response from the home fans, I am already anticipating him actually scoring a goal against us -- like he did with Brum and they absolutely HATED him when he left. We traditionally do well against the big boys, and crap against the bottom feeders. Who knows how many points we will get on our last five outings.l

In any event, it is the GD that is going to kill us in the event of a tie, no matter what. Porto and Villa with about 8 above us. We aren't going to close that in.

Hi Jilleen, Villa got six against Derby today, that goal difference is very much in the favour of Villa now!

Regarding Pompey not applying for the Intertoto, I saw an interview with Harry about that, he said that he didn't want his players coming back too early to prepare for the Intertoto, he wanted them to have a proper rest over the summer. Pompey are cast iron favourites to win the FA Cup and qualify for Europe that way.

It will be good to see Sav again, If only to say goodbye properly, he did a good job for us and deserves our appreciation.
BTW, Andy Todd and Jay McEverley will be back as well.
