Blackburn is in a fight for the Intertoto spot. Reading are still deep in the relegation battle. I think we have a little more incentive then they do. Plus with the game at home and having won 3 of the last 4 I think we can get all 3 in a tight 1-0 or 2-1 match. I can't imagine we will see many changes in the lineup this week. Maybe a few changes on the bench, but not any starters.

Another important game for us to capitalize on our recent form. Bolton are also playing Arsenal today which is also helps our cause. I would also like to see a similar starting 11 as we have had. What I want:
--------------USA--------------
-Rosenior--Ivar--Bikey--Shorey-
--Oster---Marek--Harper--Hunt--
-------Kitson-------Long--------

Bah, Hunt almost made it 1-0. Oster with a brilliant move to create the chance.

Nelsen was cheeky trying to nick the ball out of Hahnemann's hands. Probably the most exciting moment of the half, aside from hearing the BBC Berkshire commentators being delivered a plate of sandwiches.
Aside from that the match is here for the taking. Blackburn haven't really threatened at all, aside from Pederson's free kick. A win here would also assure that they don't lose any ground against the other results which aren't going our way yet.

Well, the officiating in this game is horrendous.

Twice now the ref has declined to produce a yellow for Blackburn for yellow card offenses.
In spite of having already sent off Mateyovsky.
And Hunt scuffed the best chance of the game.

Coppell I cannot believe shook the hand of the ref. Twice the linesmen missed blatant offsides, two yellow card offenses by Blackburn let go including one by Warnock who would have received a red. Before the refs start huffing about respect I suggest that they learn how to call a match.
At least they got the draw. Matejovsky is out next week which is bad.

A decent point, I guess. A few chances, even down to 10, to get the winner. But Blackburn had some good chances too.
Haven't figured out the standings yet as of now. But a second half in another game definitely helped..

I'll take the point. The officiating was bad for both sides with no solid chances at goal. Matejovsky's sending off was very strange. However, Reading kept their composure and even created some chances being down a man. Bolton lost today so that helped our cause as well. Now we just need to figure out how we can win some away games.

A point is better then no points. But as of late the officiating has been pretty bad going back to the Liverpool game. The rest of the schedule can give us some leeway as long as we keep playing the way we have. And Convey was on the bench today, so maybe he can fill in next Saturday.

Too bad Spurs couldn't keep New Castle down for us today. It would have been nice to have kept another team down below us.

Well, Reading get the chance to do the job next week.
I saw part of the Spurs/Newcastle game after seeing the score line, and was a bit relieved to see how poorly Spurs played second half. Reading will have a fight, but at least they'll be fighting in their own weight class and should have a chance to slug out another result (not sure my heart can take another, but what the hey - at least it'll be live on FSC).

Sending off was a bit harsh. First yellow definitely deserved but not the second.
Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season, I can't see you being in any real danger now. Fulham are dropping off again and Bolton are falling apart.

Bikey in ESPN's team of the week! (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=521368&root=england&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab1pos2&cc=5901) Thats twice in a row. Last week for the brace, this week for his work on Santa Cruz.

Bikey has taken his game to another level. He still is a bit on the wild side but I think you need that a little on the defensive side of the ball. I also love that he doesn't back down to anyone like for instance when he stood up to Gerrard during the Liverpool match. Let's just hope he keeps his emotions in check and doesn't get any stupid red cards.
